Church plans special offering
On Sept. 24, the fall ingathering for the United Thank Offering will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Seaford. The UTO envelopes will be received at each service.

Gethsemane to celebrate fall
Fall Harvest Day will be held in the fellowship hall of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Reliance on Saturday, Sept. 23, 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.

This event will include a rummage sale, crafts, baked goods and a food booth. featuring scrapple sandwiches, hot dogs and homemade soup. The fellowship hall is 5 miles west of the Nylon Capital Shopping Center at the corner of Delaware 20 and Woodland Ferry Road, behind construction of new church. Call 629-2862 for more information.

Fall fest to include oysters
Kings Church, on Gordy Road 2 miles east of Laurel, will hold a fall festival Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oyster sandwiches will be on sale, as well as hot dogs, cold drinks and baked goods. Antique tractors, arts and crafts and craft vendors will be there. There will be activities for children, including a Puppets for Christ show at 11 a.m. and horse and buggy rides.

St. Paul's to host concert
An evening of gospel music will be held at St. Paul's Church on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. It will feature the Veasey Family. The church is located near Hearn's Crossroad, Laurel.

Wesleyan plans Friend Day
The Laurel Wesleyan Church will hold Friend Day Sunday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. in the Laurel High School auditorium. Featured will be the Cannanland Boys. Nursery care and children's programs will be provided. For details, call 875-5380.

Concert set at Christ UMC
Christ United Methodist Church is sponsoring a gospel concert featuring the Benton Family of Deal Island, Md., and Faye Hoffman of Wenona, Md., on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m., at the Bandstand in the Park, downtown Laurel. Homemade ice cream will be served. In case of rain, the concert will be moved to inside of the church, 510 Central Ave., Laurel. For information call 875-4444.

Melson's to host gospel group
Melson's United Methodist Church, Delmar, will host a southern gospel group from Salisbury. The King's Ambassadors will perform Sunday, Sept. 24, at the 10 a.m. service. The church is located approximately 4 miles east of Delmar at 32705 Melson Road. For more information, call 846-2425.
Church to host antique show
The 48th antique show of Centenary Church, Laurel, will be Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 26 and 27. The show starts at 10 a.m. each day. Lunch will be served both days, starting at 11 a.m., consisting of homemade vegetable soup, chicken salad and ham sandwiches and platters.

A ham and oyster fritter dinner will be served Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $8 for adults, $3 children 6-12; children under 6 are admitted free.

Homecoming set at St. George's
St. George's United Methodist Church, Delmar, will hold its homecoming, Sunday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. There will be special singing and speakers.

House tour set for Oct. 5
The United Methodist Women of St. John's Church, Seaford, are sponsoring tours of some of the most beautiful homes in the area.

The 27th annual St. John's House Tour will be Thursday, Oct. 5, beginning at 10 a.m. It features tours of seven homes and is accompanied by a chicken salad luncheon held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. John's.

There will be a boutique featuring crafts and other homemade goodies in the St. John's fellowship hall starting at 9 a.m.
Tickets may be purchased at any of the homes on the day of the tour or in the church's Wesley Lounge. The price of the tickets is $6.

Gospel fest set for Oct. 7
Christian Community Council will presents its third annual gospel festival Saturday, Oct. 7, at Collins Avenue Park in Seaford, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. The theme will be, "It's a family affair and I'm too blessed to be stressed." Master of ceremonies will be minister Lee Michael of Heaven 600 AM in Baltimore.

Speakers will include pastor Anthony Flowers of Family Enrichment Deliverance Center, Laurel; evangelists Joellen Edwards and Sadie Brunson of Wilmington; pastor David Halcomb, First Baptist Church, Laurel; pastor Allan Holloway, Christian Community Council; and evangelist Bill Dorey, New Beginning Worship Center. Trinity to host hymn sing
Trinity Church at Dublin Hill will host a hymn sing on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m., featuring Everett Warrington, Ronnie Lynch, Bob Littleton and Dan Walker. Refreshments will be served.
