Little Miss Towne Fair contestants are sought
The Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce and the Seaford Historical Society are looking for contestants for the Little Miss Towne & Country Fair Pageant The Fair is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Gov. Ross Plantation, North Pine Street Extended, Seaford.
All contestants must be between 4 and 7 years of age as of Aug. 30. A completed application with photo and registration fee of $5 must be returned to the chamber of Commerce office by Tuesday, Aug. 29. Call the Chamber office at 629-9690 for an application or for more information.

Operation Hello Aug. 24
"Operation Hello" (freshman orientation) will be held in the Seaford High School auditorium on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. Students and parents are welcome to attend.

School Supply List: Central Elementary School in the Seaford School District provides each student with basic school supplies; however, it would be helpful if the following items could be provided by parents/guardians:

First grade: 4 composition books (black & white cover), pencils, book bag (no trapper keepers please), tissues, 2 pocket folders, 1 box zip-lock plastic bags (any size), school box, erasers, crayons, glue stick, child's scissors.

Second grade: 3 composition books (black & white cover), 2 pocket folders, crayons, erasers, 1 glue stick, pencils, scissors, tissues.

Third grade: 4 composition books (black & white cover, pencils, 2 pocket folders, 2 spiral notebooks, tissues.
Castle hosting meeting
Delaware Congressman Michael N. Castle announced today that he will be hosting a Town Meeting at the Nanticoke Senior Center on Thursday, Aug. 31 from 11 a.m.-noon, to discuss issues which are currently facing the U.S. House of Representatives, including prescription drugs, Social Security, education initiatives, budget reform and the environment.
Congressman Castle invites all Delawareans to come to the Senior Center to share their questions and concerns with him. The center is located at 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford.

Crafter and vendor deadline
The Bridgeville Senior Center is accepting applications for the Apple Scrapple Festival Farmer's Market. This very popular event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14.
Call Karen at 337-8771 and ask for your application. The deadline for crafters and vendors is Sept. 1.
