St. John's concert series
A three-concert recital series held at St. John's United Methodist Church in Seaford, brings nationally known performance artists to the area. The last concert in this series will be soprano Catherine Justice on Aug. 24. Tickets are $10. Proceeds benefit enlargement and renovation of St. John's Pipe organ. Lay Ministry Simulcast
John Maxwell's "Lay Ministry 2000 Seminar" is coming to Milton, on Aug. 26. Benton Family to perform
The Benton Family will be performing at the Seaford Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. The public is invited to come and enjoy a night of Gospel music with refreshments served after the service. For more information call Pastor Greg at 629-3929.

Signs and Wonders
B.D. Hyman, daughter of film legend Bette Davis, will be guest speaker at Jericho Fellowship International for a "Signs and Wonders Gathering," Buffet Dinner, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m., at the Seaford Golf and Country Club. Praise and worship with Donna Lucia Downs on keyboard and vocal, and Denise Carlson on violin and vocal. Registration $25 due Sept. 5. All are welcome! For more information call 629-5654.

Catholic awards for Scouts
The Catholic Church has a program of awards which may be earned by members of the various age levels of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Women's Day 2000
United Deliverance Bible Center will hold a "Women's Day 2000 Celebration" on Sunday, Sept. 10, at morning service 11:30 a.m. and afternoon service, 5 p.m. The church is located at 532 West Seventh St., Laurel. Bishop Catherine A. Camper is pastor. Preacher at morning service will be Overseer Idel T. Williams of Maranatha Pentecostal Church, Greenwood; afternoon preacher will be Bishop Patricia Williams, Glorious Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Wilmington. Theme: "Women in Pursuit of the Kingdom."

The Ninety & Nine
The Ninety & Nine extends an invitation to join them for their quarterly dinner meeting at the Methodist Manor House in Seaford, on Monday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. The Ninety & Nine is a ministry, which was formed in 1984 by a group of women who care about the needs of others. Guest speaker for the evening is JoAnn Bolen of Salisbury. She recently visited the Holy Land. In addition to hearing about her trip, visitors will hear how she was delivered from her of insecurity and a habit of "name-calling." Guest singer for the evening is Vera Bolen.
