Preschool has openings
Mt. Olivet Preschool has space available for fall 2001. Students who will be 2, 3 or 4 years of age by Aug. 31 are eligible for enrollment. Class sizes are limited to 12 students for the 4-year-old class, 10 students in the 3-year-old class and six students for the 2-year-old classes. Just for special people
The Bible School for Special People (BSSP) program at Christ Lutheran Church will host vacation Bible school Aug. 20 through Aug. 24. This program is designed for people with mental retardation and other mental and physical challenges. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. This year's theme is "Gifts From God." There will be a closing program at 8 p.m. on Friday. For details, contact Leona at 629-2770.

Centenary to host fair
Centenary United Methodist Church's summer fair will be Saturday, Aug. 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Features will include children's games, clowns and a dunking booth. Registration for Sunday school will be available. Hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream will be available. For more information, call the church office at 875-3983.

Trinity to host gospel group
Country gospel group Back Porch Light will be in concert at Trinity United Methodist Church of Laurel (near Trap Pond), Saturday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. For more information call Sandy LeCates at 856-1506.

Women's ministry to meet
The Ninety & Nine will hold its quarterly dinner meeting at the Methodist Manor House in Seaford, Monday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. The Ninety & Nine is a ministry of women. Guest speaker for this meeting will be Dr. Michele Russell, founder of Take My Hand Ministry in Greenwood, a nonprofit ministry that works with women, children and families. Guest singers for the evening will be known as "God's Grace" of Denton Wayside Church of Christ in Christian Union. Members are Sheila Joseph, Susan Arner, and Linda Boelens. Gospel sing set for Sept. 15
The 12th annual Old-Fashioned Gospel Sing, featuring the Tombstone Cowboys, will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Delmar Park. The opening prayer will be offered by Delmar mayors McDonnell and Nibblett. Other singers will include Jim and Patty Jeannette; Smith Family Singers; Northpointe Tabernacle Singers; Rick and Cathy Benton; Terri and Barbara; Barbely Boys; Cornerstone Notes; Brewer Family; and Tony Carey and Les Sherrill. Kids activities will include Margie the Clown, pony rides and a wagon train. Food will be available. For more information call 302-846-3011.

Galloways to be in concert
Epworth Christian School athletic department will present The Galloways in concert at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22. The free concert will held at Epworth Fellowship Church. The doors will open at 5:30 and the seating will be on a first-come - first-serve basis. A local group will begin entertaining at 6. The Galloways' start in southern gospel music began when the trio sang together in their hometown church. Now the group has major recording projects, singles climbing the southern gospel music charts and multiple concert dates to meet. Its most recent recording project featured producer Roger Talley. "Restoration," the title of the new recording, is a collection of songs and music - many of which are originals penned by the group.
