VBS reaches to ‘Unchurched’
Registration for Vacation Bible School is being held Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. or Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 Central Ave., Laurel. The Bible school will be in session from Aug. 23-27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for ages 3 to adult. The Rev. Dr. Brooks Reynolds, the church’s pastor said, “The goal, in addition to serving church members, is to reach out to the communities many unchurched and help them to realize the joy of being part of the church family.” Rev. Reynolds will hold adult Bible study and deliver the adult message, “How to grow a Church.” All are welcome. Centenary holds special Thursday services
Come join us at Centenary United Methodist Church, each Thursday at 7 p.m., for our Wing and a Prayer Service. Each week we will have a different guest speaker sharing the gospel with us. Our speakers for the month of August are:
• Aug. 12 - Clifford McGee, Sunday School teacher.
• Aug. 19 - The Rev. Sam McWilliams, retired minister
• Aug. 26 - Bishop Catherine Camper, minister at United Deliverance Bible Center Praise and Worship music will be led each week by Brian and Phyllis Wheatley. Joins us for this praise and worship service and let God’s Spirit fill you with His blessings.

Gospel Fest this Friday
Sounds of inspiration and praise will fill the air on Friday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., when the Holly Foundation will host its first annual “Gospel Fest on the Lawn.” Grab the family, blanket or lawn chair and join our friends at the Holly Center for an evening of gospel music featuring such groups as: First Step, Clinton Jones, Jr., Prodigal Sons, Blake Singers of Snow Hill, B.A.S.I.C., St. James AME Mass Choir, and many more. This event will be held on the campus of the Holly Center Snow Hill Road, Salisbury. Refreshments will be available. Free will offering will be taken with proceeds benefiting the disabled. New Pastor installed at Nazarene Church
The Seaford Church of the Nazarene is pleased to invite the public to the installation of their new pastor, the Rev. Gregory Lesniewski. Rev. Lesniewski comes to us from Colorado as a graduate of Nazarene Bible College. Rev. Lesniewski, his wife Pamela, and their two sons, Jarrod and Jayce, originally resided in Connecticut. The installation service will be held on Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Seaford Church of the Nazarene. The church is located at 520 South Dual Highway. A reception will follow. Vacation Bible School - Aug. 16-20
Vacation Bible School will be held at the Seaford Presbyterian Church, Bridgeville Road, on Aug. 16-20. There will be classes for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade from 9:30 -11:30 a.m. each day. All are welcome. Mt. Calvary U.M.C. plans bus trip

70th Anniversary celebration, Aug. 22
Laurel Wesleyan Church will celebrate their 70th Anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 22, with a special commemorative serve at 3 p.m. and family barbecue on the grounds at 5 p.m. Special features include: District Superintendent Dr. Harry Wood; historic video of the last 70 years; special music by the sanctuary choir; and recognition of former pastors of the church.

Music and singing ministry - Aug. 22, 29
There will be special singing at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, west of Laurel, Sundays at 11:30 a.m. The following is the agenda on: Aug. 22 - Kim Lank; Aug. 29 - Mary Ann Young of “Lights of Home” Southern Gospel Quartet. Rejoice with us in music and worship.

Witness International, Inc. graduates
The Rev. Howard F. Travers, president of Witness International, Inc., is proud to announce the graduates of the Witness International, Inc., 1999 Criminal Justice Academy. Local member of the 1999 graduating class is David Walker of Seaford. Shirley Washington-Worthy, facility administrator of the Poplar Hill Pre-Release Unit in Quantico, Md., delivered the commencement address at the Parkway Church of God on Edison Street in Salisbury. An outreach ministry to law enforcement and correctional officers, prisoners, ex-offenders, crime victims, and their families, Witness International, Inc., offers its 15-week Criminal Justice Academy to those interested in becoming either a law enforcement or correctional volunteer. The Cash Family will be in concert Sunday M.S.A Gospel Recording Artists The Cash Family will be in concert at Blades United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 15 at the 11:00am worship service. Latin Mass - Sunday, Aug. 15 - 3 p.m.
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass is always a Missa Cantata using traditional Gregorian chant. For further information, call 302-674-5905 or 302-629-8863.

Gateway Park hosts gospel concert Sunday
Earthen Vessels, a Christian youth band, will perform at Gateway Park Sunday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. In case of bad weather, it will be held at St. John’s UMC at Pine and Poplar streets, Seaford. The group is comprised of youth from Seaford and Salisbury. For information, call 629-2298 or 629-9466.
