Sandy Davis, her grandson Jeffrey Melvin and her daughter Faith Melvin just returned from a trip to Orlando. They visited Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure. They saw Spiderman, Cat in the Hat, and Sam I Am from Green Eggs and Ham. Afterward, they spent time with Jeffrey’s great-grandfather, aunts, uncles and cousins in Jacksonville, Fla.
A great time was had and Jeffrey really enjoyed his trip with his grandmother and his mother.

We send our good wishes to the people in Florida after the catastrophe that they have just endured. I finally heard from friends Joanne and Jeff Ziemer, who live in Ponta Gorda. Their home was damaged on the outside, but everything was OK inside. Their area will not have electricity for about six weeks. They also don’t know when the phones will be back in service.
Our sympathy and prayers to the families and friends of James W. Flood Sr. and John Taylor Gard II.

Thought for the week: “Often we can achieve an even better result when we stumble yet are willing to start over, when we don’t give up after a mistake, when something doesn’t come easily but we throw ourselves into trying, when we’re not afraid to appear less than perfectly polished.” Sharon Salzberg
