Shiloh Church to host singer
Shiloh Community Church will host singer Lawrence Tyler, of Tilghman Island, Md., on Sunday, Aug. 12. He has made recordings.

Ice cream to be for sale
Blades United Methodist Church will hold an ice cream sale and social Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Blades Community Hall on West 4th Street, beginning at 10 a.m. Homemade ice cream will be available by the dip, pints and quarts.

Warrington to sing

Epworth Quartet to perform
The Epworth Quartet of Laurel will perform at Trinity Church of Dublin Hill, near Bridgeville, Sunday, Aug. 12, at 2:30 p.m. The seven-member gospel group is in its 38th year. Manager Dale Dukes is the only original member remaining with the group.

Scotts will be in concert
Jeff and Jeanine Scott, Christian musicians from Bridgeville, will perform at Grace Baptist Church, 805 Atlanta Road, Seaford, Sunday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m.

Concert set for Portsville
An outdoor gospel concert featuring the Reunion Quartet from Princess Anne, Md., will be Sunday, Aug. 12, at 6 p.m., under the big tent at Portsville United Methodist Church, Dogwood Lane, just west of Bethel. Members of the audience may bring lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the church. For more information call 875-4672.

Church plans summer school
The Laurel Church of Christ will hold its annual vacation Bible school Aug. 13-17. Classes will be available for ages 4 through adults. The theme for this year's Bible school is "Don't Look Down: Replacing Earthly Fears with Heavenly Focus." The school begins each evening at 6:30 and ends at 8:30. On Friday night, the students will present a program, "Look Up," at 7. Preceding the program, the students, their parents and other family members are invited to a picnic at 6.

'Jesus to the Rescue' school
Christ Evangelistic Church, 9802 Camp Road, Laurel, will hold its summer Bible school, Jesus to the Rescue at Vacation Bible School, for ages 3 to12, Aug. 13 through 17, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A grand finale will be held the evening of the 19th. For details, call 875-2915.

Youth ministry plans dinner
Union Church Youth "One80" Ministries will host a spaghetti dinner Wednesday, Aug. 15, 4 to 7 p.m. Admission for adults is $5 and for children under 10, $2.50. The church is located at 2 North Laws St., Bridgeville. For more information call 337-7409.

Multi-family yard sale set
A multi-family yard sale will be Saturday, Aug. 18, 7 a.m., at the Good Samaritan Christian Fellowship Church, Seaford Highway, about 1 mile south of Blades.

Preschool has openings
Mt. Olivet Preschool has space available for fall 2001. Students who will be 2, 3, or 4 years of age by Aug. 31 are eligible for enrollment. Class sizes are limited to 12 students for the 4-year-old class, 10 students in the 3-year old class and six students for the 2-year old classes. Classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 11:15 beginning Wednesday, Sept. 5. For information call Mt.
