Car & Motorcycle Show
Our Lady of Lourdes Church will be having its annual Classic Car and Motorcycle Show on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 1-6 p.m. Dash plaques, People's Choice Awards, and trophies will be awarded. Registration is $9 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Youth Group as it saves for a trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference, so come out and enjoy the food, games, DJ, and, of course, plenty of classic cars and motorcycles.

Big Thursday Festival
The Greater Millsboro Chamber of Commerce has announced the opening of ticket sales for concerts associated with the Big Thursday Festival. The festival will be held in downtown Millsboro, at the Little League complex on State Street on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Aug. 9-11. In addition to the Chamber and Little League, the event is co-sponsored by the Millsboro Fire Co. and Town of Millsboro.
The concert schedule features classic rock-and-roll and country performers. Back for a return engagement on Friday night is the Roadsters, whose performance will accompany a preview cruise-in for Saturday's antique and classic car show. Show time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $3 advance; $5 day of show. Children under six enter free.
On Saturday night, the Funsters, a popular local band, will appear at 5 and 7 p.m. Dakkota makes a return visit with shows at 6 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $9 day of show. Children under six enter free. One ticket covers all four shows for the evening. Bring lawn chairs both nights. The concerts are sponsored in part by Green Valley Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation, the Wave; Good Times and Great Oldies and the Town of Millsboro.
Other activities associated with the Big Thursday Festival are a general auction, local pageant, children's entertainment, 5k run, car show, farm equipment show, museum displays, horseshoe tournament, fireworks and more. Towne & Country Fair Prayer Breakfast
The Seaford Kiwanis, Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce and Seaford Historical Society are sponsoring a Prayer Breakfast at the Towne & Country Fair on Saturday, Sept. 1, beginning at 8 a.m. The Prayer Breakfast will be held in a tent on the grounds of the Governor Ross Plantation, North Pine Street Extended, Seaford. A limited number of tickets are available at $10 each. The breakfast is being catered by Jimmy's Grille.

Elks Bingo on Wednesday
The Seaford Elks Lodge has Bingo every Wednesday evening beginning promptly at 7:30. Join us for our new format. More specials. Food available from our kitchen.

Main Street Concert
The next event planned for Seaford Main Street's Concerts in the Park series will take place Thursday, Aug. 16. The evening will be a Children's Night and will feature puppets, clowning and storytelling. You won't want to miss this evening that is sure to be fun for children of all ages! The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in Gateway Park in downtown Seaford. There is no charge for attending. For more information call 629-9173.

Comcast Country Music Fest
It's Comcast Country Music fest 2001! Delmarva welcomes country music blockbusters "Montgomery Gentry" and "Ricochet" for a night of high energy country music, Thursday, Aug. 23, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury. The Comcast Country Music Fest is sponsored by Comcast Cable Television, Pepsi Cola of Delmarva, Harley-Davidson of Seaford, Rehoboth Beach and Ocean City, CAT Country and the Delmarva Shorebirds. Country Music Fest 2001 promises to be the event of the year.
Tickets are $15 for stadium seating and $25 stage level. All proceeds benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware. Be aware that 100 percent of the money raised at this event will go directly to youth programming at Boys and Girls Club sites in such communities as Seaford, Laurel, Oak Orchard/Riverdale, Georgetown, Milford and Dover.

Dreams seminar Aug. 10
The Methodist Manor House at 1001 Middleford Road in Seaford will host a free seminar, "All About Dreams" on Friday, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m. The program is presented by Sturges Dodge and is open to the public. For more information, call 628-5631.

Miller Family Reunion
The 17th Reunion of the Samuel James Miller and Elizabeth Ellen Hastings Miller family will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the St. George United Methodist Hall at noon. Town Fair contestants
The Little Miss Towne & Country Fair Pageant will take place during the Fair on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Governor Ross Plantation. The committee is now accepting applications for contestants. Contestants for the Little Miss Pageant must be between the ages of 4 and 7 years old on Aug. 29, 2001. Thanks to area businesses, it will be possible for all contestants to receive gifts in addition to the prizes awarded for first and second place. Sign up for Vermont trip
Nanticoke Senior Center is sponsoring a five-day, four-night fall foliage trip to Vermont from Oct. 1 through Oct. 5. Trip includes: motor coach transportation, lodging, meals, day-trips to area attractions which include: The Bennington Museum, President Calvin Coolidge Historic Site, Deerfield, Mass., and nightly entertainment.
