‘Rejoice’ coming to Alliance Church
Rejoice, from Toccoa Falls, Ga., will perform Thursday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m. at Atlanta Road Alliance Church.
The church is located on Atlanta Road, 1 and 1/2 miles north of the Nylon Capital Shopping Plaza, next to Seaford Animal Hospital.

Centenary to offer Thursday services
Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel, is holding Wing and a Prayer Services each Thursday at 7 p.m. Speakers for July and August are:

  • Aug. 5 - Dale Boyce, lay leader at Centenary United Methodist Church
  • Aug. 12 - the Rev. Bud Brewer, retired minister
  • Aug. 19 - the Rev. Sam McWilliams, retired minister
  • Aug. 26 - Bishop Catherine Camper, minister at United Deliverance Bible Center

Music will be led each week by Brian and Phyllis Wheatley.

Singer to be at Christ Cornerstone
The Rev. David Overstreet will be in concert at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church on Aug. 6, 7, and 8, at 7 p.m. The church is located at the corner of US 13A and Bethel Road, Laurel.

Youth week continues through Friday, Aug. 6
Frog ’99 (Fully Relying on God) is a youth week planned for youths who have just completed the seventh grade through 21 years old. Sponsored by the Laurel Church of the Nazarene, it will be held Aug. 5 and 6, 7-9 p.m. at the home of Fred and Brenda Jester. Featured will be devotions led by ENC Summer Ministry Team, "Stuttering Moses," volleyball, swimming, football and snacks. For more information, call 629-7010. People who need a ride to the house will meet at the church at 6:30 p.m.

Mt Calvary plans trip to Baltimore
A bus trip to the Blacks Wax and Inner Harbor Aquarium, both in Baltimore, is being planned by Mt. Calvary UMC. Deposits will be accepted until Aug. 18.

Mt. Pleasant plans special music
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, west of Laurel, will host guest singers on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. The following is the schedule:

St. John’s to host vacation Bible school
St. John’s United Methodist Church, Seaford, will hold vacation Bible school Aug. 9-13, from 6:30-8:45 p.m. This year’s theme is "The Great Bibleland Dig - Exploring the Life of Jesus." The program is free and open to all children from 4 years of age to those who have completed the fifth grade. The church is located at Pine and Poplar streets. Call 629-9466 to register.

Mt. Pleasant Charge plans Bible school
Laurel Mt. Pleasant Charge vacation Bible school will be held Aug. 9-13. This will start each evening at 6:30-8:30 at Mt. Pleasant U.M. Church west of Laurel. Children should bring washed white T-shirts with them.

Trinity UMC to host Bible school
Trinity United Methodist Church (near Trap Pond) will hold its annual vacation Bible school Aug. 9 through Aug. 13, from 6:30-8:45 p.m. each day. For more information contact Brenda Conaway at 238-7139.

Bible school set at Seaford Presbyterian
Vacation Bible School will be held at the Seaford Presbyterian Church, Bridgeville Road, Seaford, Aug. 16-20. There will be classes for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade from 9:30 -11:30 a.m. each day. For details, call 629-9808.
