Club gets assistance from 20 Ohio teens
Although there were some rain showers, that did not deter 20 teenagers from the Belpre Church of Christ in Ohio. The group, and their adult chaperones, spent the day last Tuesday at the Boys & Girls Club and the Nanticoke Senior Center.
For the past two decades, members of the Belpre Church have been taking to the road for 10 days each summer to do a variety of projects in other communities and churches. The teens stayed with host families in the Seaford area.
On Tuesday, the day started with work for the senior center. While some members of the group helped the center clean out the storage shed, others took to ladders to prepare the east and north walls of the police department outbuilding behind the station. The building is also used by the senior center and the Boys & Girls Club, and the bare cement wall faces the new Boys & Girls Club.
The huge wall took almost 20 gallons of primer. The teens not only primed and painted the metal trim around the top of the building, but they also finished the top coat on the two walls to complete the project.
