Bridgeville wash, bake sale

The Bridgeville Senior Center is conducting a car wash/bake sale on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. until noon. The car wash will be held across from Town Hall in Bridgeville at the corner of Main and Market Streets.

Melissa Moore receives award

Melissa Moore, 20, daughter of Benjamin and Patricia Moore of Bridgeville, was recently awarded the Achievement Key Award for outstanding scholarship at the Honors Convocation at Salisbury University.
A 1997 graduate of Woodbridge High School, Moore graduated this May from SU, majoring in biology and pre-veterinary medicine. She served as secretary of the Tri-Beta honor society for biology, is a member of the Medical Careers Club, is on the Dean's List and is co-captain of Intramural soccer, indoor soccer and floor hockey teams. SU's Achievement Key Award was given this year to 30 students for outstanding scholarship and campus service.

Only students who have received a 3.6 academic average for the two preceding semesters are eligible for nomination. At Salisbury University some 6,400 students in 31 undergraduate and eight graduate programs pursue liberal arts and professional degrees. Located on the Eastern Shore 30 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and 20 miles from the Chesapeake Bay, Salisbury is 2-1/2 hours from Baltimore, Md., Washington, D.C., Norfolk, Va., and Wilmington, Del.
