University Farm and Home Field Day
The University of Delaware, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will host a Farm and Home Field Day, Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the U.S. Research and Education Center (REC), Route 9 in Georgetown. Come celebrate agriculture at the university. This annual event offers many fun-filled, education activities for children and adults including field tours, livestock petting zoo, interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Tickets for a traditional chicken lunch at noon in the Grove can be purchased at the registration table beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $6 per lunch. No admission costs; and free parking. Towne & Country Fair Prayer Breakfast
The Seaford Kiwanis, Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce and Seaford Historical Society are sponsoring a Prayer Breakfast at the Towne & Country Fair on Saturday, Sept. 1, beginning at 8 a.m. The Prayer Breakfast will be held in a tent on the grounds of the Governor Ross Plantation, North Pine Street Extended, Seaford. A limited number of tickets are available at $10 each. The breakfast is being catered by Jimmy's Grille. The tent will remain up all day on the Mansion grounds to provide a place for the entertainment features. Town Fair contestants
The Little Miss Towne & Country Fair Pageant will take place during the Fair on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Governor Ross Plantation. The committee is now accepting applications for contestants. Contestants for the Little Miss Pageant must be between the ages of 4 and 7 years old on Aug. 29, 2001. Thanks to area businesses, it will be possible for all contestants to receive gifts in addition to the prizes awarded for first and second place. NYSA host Chicken BBQ NYSA Traveling is sponsoring a Chicken Barbeque on Saturday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Cock & Bull (US 13 and Rt. 20) in Seaford. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance, and in some cases local deliveries will be made! For more information contact NYSA at 629-3530. Proceeds will benefit NYSA Traveling Teams.

Hitchens Family Reunion The 46th annual Hitchens Family Reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Cypress Point Pavilion on the north side of Trap Pond State Park at 1:30 p.m. A buffet luncheon will be served. Fried chicken will be provided. Food committee will be the Linden Hitchens family.

Pepper Family Reunion The annual "Pepper Reunion" will be held at Trap Pond on Sunday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. in the small pavilion near the new children's play ground. Bring a covered dish. Call 238-7432.
