Laurel Agricultural Parade
Laurel announces the Aug. 24 salute to local agriculture as another activity within the town’s bicentennial celebration. Laurel will be hosting a tractor parade and open-air produce market that will be available to the public for their viewing delight and provide locally grown fruits and vegetables for canning or immediate table fare. Jerry Warrington will parade and show his vintage tractor collection; others will parade floats and strut their stuff as groups or individuals. It’s time to plant that garden so you can be a seller, or polish that tractor, so you can parade up Central Avenue. We need your participation as well as a few fun-loving volunteers to dress as fruits or vegetables. For more details or to obtain free parade registration call Ted Clark, 875-9480.
