There's music in the park
"Music in the Park" is held every Wednesday night through Aug. 30, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Laurel Park bandstand. Performers are: Aug. 2, Rob Carroll; Aug. 9, Somerset; Aug. 16, Lewis Family/Woodbridge Chorus; Aug. 23, Epworth Quartet; Aug. 30, group from St. Johns Church in Seaford. Admission is free. Sponsor is the Laurel Lions Club.

Improvement club plans event
Members of the Ross Point Improvement Club are planning their first Alumni Day for Saturday, Aug. 5. The event will be held on the school grounds from noon until 4 p.m. A brief program of information and history is planned.

Hitchens to hold reunion
The 46th annual reunion of the Hitchens family will be Aug. 6, 1 p.m., at the Cypress Point pavilion on the north side of Trap Pond State Park. A buffet luncheon will be served under the direction of Ed Hitchens' family. Fried chicken will be provided. Ronald Bowden, president, will conduct a short business meeting after the luncheon.
Family and friends of the Hitchens family are invited.
Millers to hold gathering
The 16th reunion of the Samuel James Miller and Elizabeth Ellen Hastings Miller family will be Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Laurel Wesleyan Church fellowship hall at noon. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. Each family is requested to bring a meat, and a vegetable or salad dish. For additional details contact Howard Dickerson, 302-846-9664.

The United Methodist Women of Centenary Church in Laurel is compiling the local Laurel and vicinity telephone book.
