Brownies help cat shelter
Seaford Brownie Girl Scout Troop 51 is selling homemade dog biscuits and collecting cat care items this weekend to benefit the Good Shepherd Cat Sanctuary. This is a community service project.
For the second year, the Brownies have made all-natural dog biscuits to sell to help raise money for the shelter. The girls are also collecting donations of new or used cat care items for the shelter, such as crates, blankets, toys or bowls and cleaning supplies or cat food.
Located in Delmar, Md., the Good Shepherd Cat Sanctuary is a non-profit, volunteer-staffed, no-kill cat rescue mission. Its goal is to rescue homeless, abused and unwanted cats and kittens from the Delmarva area and beyond. Volunteers find loving homes for cats and provide permanent shelter for those who are not adopted. Cats are spayed or neutered and given medical care.
The girls of Brownie Troop 51 will accept donations and sell the biscuits on Saturday, July 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Food Lion in Laurel and on Sunday, July 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Seaford Wal-Mart.
