St. John's to host concerts
A concert recital series at St. John"s United Methodist Church in Seaford, brings nationally known performance artists to the area. "Heartsound," a Celtic flute and harp duo, will perform on July 27 and soprano Catherine Justice will perform on Aug. 24. Tickets are $10 for each concert. Proceeds benefit enlargement and renovation of St. John"s pipe organ. To order tickets, call 629-9466.

VBS to "Go For The Gold"
"Go For The Gold" will be this year's theme for vacation Bible school at the Laurel Church of the Nazarene July 31 through Aug. 4, from 6:30 till 8:45 p.m. Directors are Tracey Hill and Holly Cay.
All children from age 2 through the sixth grade are invited.

Church to host "Road Rally"
The Cannon Mennonite Church Bible school, "Road Rally 2000," will be July 31 through Aug. 4, from 6:30 until 9 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 5, a picnic will be held beginning at 4 p.m. For more information call 349-5477.

Couples' Sunday July 23
Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Church in Concord will hold a service geared toward couples Sunday, July 23, 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Richard Worthy and evangelist Vera Worthy from Prospect A.M.E. Church in Georgetown will speak. Proceeds from the offering will benefit Women"s Day.

Alliance Church to host VBS Vacation Bible school at Atlanta Road Alliance Church will take place Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to noon each day. There will be an introductory class during the 10 a.m. Sunday school hour on July 23. Ages 4 through completion of sixth grade are welcome.

Nazarene plans Bible school
The Seaford Church of the Nazarene located at 520 South Dual Highway, Seaford, will hold vacation Bible school July 24-28, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with a closing ceremony Sunday at 11 a.m. Children ages 3 to 12 are invited. For details call 629-3929.

In appreciation of teachers
Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Church in Concord will sponsor a church school teachers' appreciation banquet in the church"s dining hall on Saturday, July 29, beginning at 5 p.m. For tickets, contact Otelia Oliver at 629-9722 or Gladys Briggs at 629-9075. The price is $10 per person.

Church plans extravaganza
On Saturday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m., United Deliverance Bible Center, Laurel, will host a Praise Music Extravaganza. It will feature minister Marcus Baines of the Gospel Truth Singers, pastor Antoine Hutchins, Gail Lockamy and the James Family Singers, David Wilford, Natasha Henry, Jackie Archer, Keith "Champ" Wongus on drums, Robert "Mr. Bass Guitar" Warren; U.D.B.C. "God Squad" and "Royal and Divine."
The cost is $8 for adults or $10 at the door, $4 for youth and free to children 12 and under.
