Bible school set at Nazarene
Laurel Church of the Nazarene will hold its vacation Bible school, Bug Safari, July 22 through July 26. Bug Safari begins July 22 and continues through July 26. Participants will meet at the church each day from 6:30 p.m. until 9:10 p.m. A “Firefly Finale” will be held each day at 8:50 for family members and friends. For information, call 875-7873. St. John’s plans Bible school
St. John’s United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar streets, Seaford, will hold its vacation Bible school, “An Extreme Adventure with Jesus,” July 29 to Aug. 2. A light dinner will be provided for $2 from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and classes will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for children 4 years old through high school. Adult sessions on the same themes and scripture that the children learn will be available at the same time. Call the church office at 629-9466 to enroll.

Gospel group schedule set
Ol’ Time Gospel Singers, of Laurel, will perform tonight, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the the Music in the Park Summer Concerts in downtown Laurel. For more information, call Nancy Brittingham, 875-1158.

Traditional mass planned
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. This month’s will be July 21. The mass is always a Missa Cantata using traditional Gregorian chant. For details, call 302-674-5905 or 302-629-8863.

Church to mark third year
New Beginnings Worship Center will celebrate its third year Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20, with speaker Bishop David Purnell and music by Pam Rush and Labor of Love. On Sunday, July 21, at 11 a.m., Heaven for Sure will perform and the Rev. Bill Dorey will speak. Heaven for Sure will again perform at a 3 p.m. service and the Rev. Joseph Dixon will speak. Grace Notes will perform
“The Grace Notes,” a Christian Women’s Trio, will be at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Sunday, July 21, at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the concert in the church’s adjoining fellowship hall. The church is 4 miles west of Seaford at Reliance.
Catch buzz about Bible
The Seaford Church of the Nazarene will hold its vacation Bible school, “Bug Safari,” July 22 through 26 for children age 3 through those in the sixth grade. Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A closing program will be Sunday, June 28, at 11 a.m., followed by a picnic. For details, call Donna Cummings, 628-3468.

Ministry to hold auction
The fourth annual charity auction sponsored by Take My Hand Ministry Inc. of Greenwood will be Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company on U.S. 13, Greenwood. Bidders may preview items and negotiate a price from 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. At 10 a.m., auctioneer Tommy Tucker of Greenwood will sell all remaining items. All sales are final and items must be removed from the fire hall at the time of sale. An Americana Collection will be auctioned off at 11:30 a.m. There will be no negotiated bidding beforehand on these items. Refreshments, including baked goods, will be available. Donated items (excluding clothing and appliances), baked goods, and cash contributions are tax deductible. All proceeds will help poverty-level clients of Take My Hand Ministries obtain items such as food, fuel and medicine that their limited incomes cannot cover. Hall of fame plans banquet
The Second Generation Gospel Music Hall of Fame will hold its third induction ceremony Saturday, Aug. 3, 5:30 p.m. at the Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club, Seaford. Honorees will be Helen J. Beckett, Easton, Md.; Freddie Brummell Sr., Denton, Md.; Joyce Phipps, Seaford; and the Veney Sisters, Tyaskin, Md. The Faithful Ones, Seaford, will do a performance of interpretive dance and the Nichols Sisters, Mardela Springs, Md., will perform. The Rev. Joseph Austin, Germantown, Md., will be the master of ceremonies. Greene’s Catering Service will provide the meal. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children. Summer rally planned Mt Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville, will hold its annual Summer Rally Sunday, July 28, 10 a.m. The Rev. David Burke, youth director of the Peninsula-Delaware Conference, will be the guest preacher. Lunch will be served following the service.
