Seaford Lions Club Golf Tournament is August 8
The fifth annual Seaford Lions Club Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, Aug. 8. Proceeds will help support the club’s community projects, such as providing eye exams and glasses, scholarships, and assisting other needy and well-deserving causes. The tournament will be held at the Seaford Golf and Country Club, starting at 9 a.m. The format will be a two-person, better ball of partners, with net and gross prizes. An entry fee of $75 per person will include: continental breakfast, range balls, golf cart, luncheon, cash prizes, folding chair, golf balls and more. The first place team for both net and gross will win $300, second place $200 and third place $150. For more information contact Keller Hoch at 855-2283 or 629-4179 after 6 p.m.

Military Appreciation
The Seaford Swimming Association would like to invite all men and women who are presently serving or who have served in the military to enjoy a weekend at the SSA pool free of charge in honor of their military service to our country. The pool will be open from 10 - 9 p.m. on July 12 and 13, to honor these special men and women. The SSA pool is located on Craigs Mill Pond west of Seaford. Widowed Persons
The Seaford Chapter of the AARP-Widowed Persons Service will have their next meeting on Tuesday, July 15, at 12:30 p.m. at the Golden Corral. The planned guest speaker will be Jonathan Souder, Director of Health & Fitness at Methodist Manor House. Widowed persons of all ages are invited to attend. Come join us. We all enjoy the trips, lunches/dinners, etc. we do together.

Children’s program
The Seaford District Library will have a special children’s program on Wednesday, July 16, at 11 a.m. The Delaware Museum of Natural History will bring us smiles and laughs through “Comical Animals.” Come laugh and see cute animals and learn about the funny things they do. The program is free and open to children of all ages. Due to this special program there will not be a 10 a.m. Storytime. For more information contact the library at 629-2524.

Seaford Elk Lodge
The Seaford Elk Lodge #2458 will have a Fried Fish (trout) Buffet on Saturday, July 19, with Kale, stewed tomatoes, oven fried potatoes, corn bread, salad, coffee and dessert. Price is $7 each. Buffet will be served at 6 p.m. until the food is gone. Tickets may be purchased through July 18 by calling Jim Cecil at 875-3810 or can be picked up at Fantasy Beauty Salon on High Street in Seaford. The Elks are a non-profit, charitable organization.

Gethsemane Church
Gethsemane Church, Reliance, is selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts on July 27, at the church, as a fund raiser for their church sign. Call 629-8344 for ordering or information.

Christmas & Gift Show
Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation trip to Harrisburg, Penn., for a Christmas & Gift Show will be on Saturday, Dec. 6. Shop at the largest holiday show in the country with more than 500 vendors, with unique gifts priced from $2-$700. See a life-size recreation of an Olde Christmas Village, decorated trees and mantles, 100-foot train display, choral and musical groups, cooking clinics, dance troupe and more. Show tickets are $5. Motor Coach cost is $21. Depart from Seaford at 7 a.m., leave Pennsylvania for home at 5 p.m. with a dinner stop in Lancaster at 6 p.m. Reserve your spot by Friday, Nov. 14.

Christmas Spectacular
Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation trip to Radio City Music Hall “Christmas Spectacular” in New York will be Sunday, Dec. 7. Tickets are $87, which includes ticket to the show and transportation by motor coach. The noon show, lasting approximately 1-1/2 hours. From 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. you will have free time for eating, shopping or sight-seeing. Depart for home at 5:45 p.m. Forty-six tickets are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Concerts in the Park
Seaford Main Street will once again be hosting their Concerts in the Park series. The series will feature free monthly concerts at Gateway Park located at High and Market streets. The concerts are:

Atlantic City trip
The Nanticoke Senior Center is planning a trip to Atlantic City, Sept. 3-4. The trip includes: transportation by motorcoach, accommodations at the Tropicana Casino Hotel, one buffet breakfast, lunch and one buffet dinner. Three Little Bakers
Nanticoke Senior Center is planning a trip to Three Little Bakers show “The Goodbye Girl” on Wednesday, July 16, departure time is 3 p.m. Included in the trip: Motor coach transportation, great food, fabulous desserts, Cost is $50 for members, $60 for non-members. The show is set in New York City. This witty and tuneful musical is based on Neil Simon’s well-known film about an unlikely romance between a bitter single woman who has been jilted too many times and an opinionated actor who shows up on her doorstep with a lease to sublet her apartment. The musical score is by Marvin Hamlisch.

Trip to Myrtle Beach

SHS Class of 1988
Seaford High School Class of 1988, 15 year Class Reunion, will be held on Saturday, July 12, with a reception/registration from 2-4 p.m. at the Seaford High School. There will be light refreshments. Towne Fair Cook Book
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Towne & Country Fair in Seaford. The Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce is working with the Seaford Historical Society to publish a cook book to mark this historic occasion. Anyone who has a favorite recipe or an heirloom family recipe, may send it to the Chamber. “We need at lease 200 more recipes to make this a real community success — and the deadline is fast approaching. There will be a special section for recipes of the Civil War era, including special recipes from our own Towne & Country Fair troops, 2nd MD Infantry, Co.
