Flute, harp set for next concert
A three-concert recital series held at St. John's United Methodist Church in
Seaford brings nationally known performance artists to our area. The series began
Thursday, June 22, with a concert by organist Paul Fleckenstein. Other concerts
in this series will be by 'Heartsound,' a Celtic flute and harp duo on July 27,
and soprano Catherine Justice on Aug. 24.
Tickets are $10 for each concert. Proceeds benefit enlargement and renovation of

Centenary to host breakfast
Centenary Promise Keepers will serve an all-you-can eat breakfast Saturday, July
15, from 7 to 10 a.m., at Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel. Admission
for adults is $5 and for children 6 to 12, $3. Children under 6 are admitted free.
Church to 'go for the gold'
'Go For The Gold' will be this year's theme for vacation Bible school at the
Laurel Church of the Nazarene. The week of July 31 through Aug. 4, from 6:30
till 8:45 p.m., will offer Bible teaching, crafts, games, skits, refreshments
and music. Children ages 2 through the sixth grade are welcome.
Old favorites such as the dollar line and the mystery box will be a part of this
year's event. Directors are Tracey Hill and Holly Cay. The church is located at
100 Walnut St. in Laurel.

'Road rally' planned
The Cannon Mennonite Church Bible school, 'Road Rally 2000,' will be July 31
through Aug. 4, from 6:30 until 9 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 5, a picnic will be

Wesleyans plan Bible school
Faith Wesleyan Church will host a vacation Bible school, Aug. 7 through 11, from
6:30 to 8:45 p.m. nightly. Features will include crafts, recreation, refreshments
and great classes, for ages 4 and up.

Traditional mass planned
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of
every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass is always a Missa
Cantata using traditional Gregorian chant. For further information, call 674-5905
Blades UMC trip planned
The Blades United Methodist Church is sponsoring a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean
as a fund-raiser. Participants will sail on Jan. 20, 2001, for a one-week trip on
the S.S. Norway, stopping at St. Maarten, St. John, St. Thomas and Great Stirrup Cay.
