Odd Couple Tickets
Possum Point Players and Discover Bank have announced that tickets are now on sale for The Odd Couple (the female version). Show times are June 29, and 30 at 8 p.m. and on July 1 at 2 p.m. Prices are $11 or $9 for students/seniors for the matinee performance only. Calling the Possum Point Players' 24 hour ticketline at 856-4560 may reserve tickets. A very special dinner theatre will take place on Saturday June 23 and June 30 in which the green room in Possum Hall will be transformed into an Italian Bistro. The mother of the assistant director, Ms. Cheryl Workman, will cater dinner. "It is going to be a great evening," said Dean. Tickets to the dinner theatre are $34. Written by Neil Simon, The Odd Couple takes the famous Oscar and Felix and turns them into the Florence and Olive. "This is a very funny show," said Judy Dean, president of The Players. "Simon really understands the comedy of female relationships, and he cuts across all barriers to show us we really have so much in common." Dean continued that "having Ms. H. Barlow as the director of the show just makes a wonderful script even more insightful and funny. Barlow is very talented and we (Possum Point Players) are so lucky to have her." Based on the TV show, made famous by Oscar Madison and Felix Unger, the female version of "The Odd Couple," pits Olive, played by Milford resident Aleta Thompson, against her roommate and friend, Florence, played by Patsy Felthousen of Salisbury. "The dynamics between these two wonderful actresses is just a pleasure to watch," said Dean. Cassandra Petersen, Kathleen McFadden, Louise Hartzell, Cat Baker, David Parsons and Luke Sizemore round out the cast. Barlow's assistant director is Sussex Central student, Kyle Breeding.
