Summer Program Event: No stranger to the Delmar Library, Jim Hossick, “Positively Fun Concert for Kids,” is returning to entertain music lovers, young and old, on Thursday, June 27, at 6:30 p.m., at the Delmar Library. Bring your toes for tapping, your hands for clapping, voices for singing and an ample supply of smiles. Everyone is invited. The Ward Family held their family reunion at the Mt. Pleasant Church in Laurel Saturday, June 22. A favorite covered dish was brought and after dinner you could hear the laughing and smiles as they enjoyed reminiscing. Some came from as far as Pennsylvania.

We extend our best wishes for a quick recovery to Tiffany Ralph who underwent surgery at PRMC last Thursday.

Reminder — Melson U.M. Church will hold their yearly Ice Cream Social Saturday June 29, east of Delmar, off Rt. 54 beginning at 2 p.m. until ? There will be plenty of food (hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken salad, oyster sandwiches, peas and dumplings, ice cream and cake. There is a new Delmar Alumni Association being formed. It is opened to anyone who has had any association with the school. Kenny Ralph attended the last meeting and said discussion was about plans for the association and a yearly social being held around Homecoming Day. If you are interested in joining or would like to find out more information, there will be a meeting Thursday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Delmar High School.

Congratulations to Jolene L. Cross and Joseph C. Morris, Jr. who were married Saturday, June 22, at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. Jolene's parents are Barbara and Ronald J. Cross Sr. of Laurel. Joseph's parents are Brenda and Joseph Morris Sr. of Delmar. Jolene is finishing her Bachelor's degree in Spanish Education at Delaware State University where she will continue for her Doctorate. Joseph Morris Jr. is the 2nd. Assistant Chief of Delmar Volunteer Fire Department and is employed as a conductor and engineer for the Norfolk Southern Railroad. The Reverend Dr. John T. Randolph Sr. and Reverend Robert Webster performed the marriage ceremony. The newly weds are honeymooning in Mexico. Jeffrey Mitchell Wright was presented with a plaque from the Delmar School District and Board of Education in honor of his selection as the Delmar 2001 -2002 Secretary of Education Student Scholar.
