Union Church thanks
A Big Thank You to the Bridgeville Post Office for sponsoring the Can Food Drive in our community. All the food was dispersed throughout Bridgeville by Union Church to the many needy families. Again thank you for your wonderful donations.

Ice Cream Social June 29
Melson Church, east of Delmar, will hold an Ice Cream Social, on June 29, at 2 p.m. Foods available will be: oyster, chicken salad, hamburgers and hot dog sandwiches, peas and dumplings, homemade ice cream and cake. For more information call 846-0428.

Chaplain’s Chapel Bus Trip
A bus trip to Sight and Sound Living Waters Theater for the show, “Abraham and Sarah,” will leave on Saturday, June 29. The cost of $66.50 includes show, dinner at Hershey Farms, and bus. Call Winnie Vincent, 349-4874 or 349-4634 for more information or to reserve tickets.

All Aboard June 29 tour
The Laurel Bicentennial Committee, in conjunction with St. Philip’s Church, will be sponsoring a “Church bus tour” on June 29, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The tour will depart from St. Philip’s Episcopal Church at 601 South Central Ave., Laurel. Sites to be visited are: Green Hill Church (1743) near Whitehaven, Md.; Spring Hill Church (1773) near Hebron, Md.; St. Mark’s Episcopal Church near Delmar, Del.; and Laurel’s own Old Christ Church (1773). Except for Spring Hill, these churches are all inactive today, but represent the religious heritage brought to the Laurel area by early settlers.Luncheon and rest facilities will be provided along the way at a cost of $17 per ticket. Concord hosts Hymn Sing
Concord Church will host a hymn sing, Sunday, June 30, at 3 p.m. Singers will include “The Sounds of Joy Trio,” Virginia Mitchell from Salisbury, Md., and Wayne Gaber from Milford. Refreshments will follow.
‘Sounds of Grace’ June 30
Seaford Church of the Nazarene will host an evening of Southern Gospel at its best. “The Sounds of Grace” will be there to minister through their music, on Sunday, June 30, 6 p.m. The public is invited to join us for a time of music and fellowship. Blades UMC cruise Sept. 28
The Blades United Methodist Church is again sponsoring a Cruise as a fundraiser. Participants will be traveling by chartered motor-coach on Sept. 28, to depart from New York City for a fun-filled one-week Fall Foliage Cruise through New England and Canada. Church of God Youth Day
The Annual Youth Day Celebration Services will be held at East Clarence Street Church of God, Seaford, on Sunday, June 30, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. God’s messenger for the morning service is Min. Dawanda White, Macedonia United Methodist Church, Dames Quarter, Md. Afternoon guests are Min. Clarice Moyer and the New Beginning Church of God Choir of Kent Island, Md. The church’s Youth Choir, Spiritual Light Choir and the Unity for Christ Team will be ministering in music and creative expressions in these services.

Prophetic Ministry July 14-16
New Beginnings Worship Center in Harrington, welcomes Sister Sadie Brunson from Wilmington for a time of Prophetic Ministry starting on Sunday, July 14, through Tuesday, July 16. Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly. All are welcome. A free will offering will be taken each night. New Beginnings Worship Center is located on Rt. 13 and Williamsville Road, 3 miles south of Harrington. Vacation Bible School at St. John’s July 29-Aug. 2
Join St. John’s United Methodist Church located at Pine and Poplar streets in Seaford for a fun-packed Vacation Bible School that challenges children to climb to great heights on Faith Mountain. “An Extreme Adventure with Jesus” will take place from July 29 to Aug. 2. A light dinner will be provided for $2 from 5:30-6 p.m., and classes will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for 4-year-olds through high school. Adult sessions on the same themes and scripture that the children learn will be available at the same time. Call the church office at 629-9466 for more information or to enroll.

Latin Mass July 21 - 3 p.m.
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on July 21.
