Pageant set for July 4th
In conjunction with Laurel"s Fourth of July celebration, County Bank is sponsoring a Little Miss Independence pageant for girls ages 2 to 4. Pat Murphy as 'Uncle Sam' will be master of ceremony. Geraldine Taylor will be 'Betsy Ross' and she will take care of escorting the children. Applications are available at County Bank in Laurel.

Class of 1990 plans reunion
The Laurel High School Class of 1990 is planning its 10-year class reunion to be held in November. Organizers are trying to contact all classmates. Anyone who has not been contacted may call Alison Hastings at 875-2166 or Kelly Layton at 875-4029.
Park plans summer programs
Trap Pond State Park, Laurel, is sponsoring several programs during the summer. Weekly programs include Swingin" Seniors, a walking program for senior citizens, Pond Adventures, which invites kids to explore life in the pond, hayrides, canoe trips and sunset tours of the pond.
Continental Cruises, mid-morning tours of the pond featuring continental breakfast, are held every Saturday, as are evening paddleboat tours of Trussum Pond.
On Friday, June 23, 10 a.m. the park will host a program on its wild orchids. Snakes will be the topic of a program Sunday, June 25, 11 a.m. Nature camps for children will be held through July. For details, call 875-5163.
