S.H.S. Alumni to meeting
The Seaford High School Alumni Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, at the Boys and Girls Club on Virginia Avenue. As this is the last meeting of the summer, all members are urged to attend.
SDPR Community Pool
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the Community Pool opened Memorial Day weekend. Swim lessons are offered for the youth and there is a swim team. Pool memberships are available. There are Teen Splash Parties and the pool can be rented for private parties. Call 629-6809 for more information.
Concerts in the Park
Seaford Main Street will once again be hosting their Concerts in the Park series. The series will feature free monthly concerts at Gateway Park and held the kick off in May. Be sure to mark your calendars for the following dates as well:
June 21 will feature the St. John's Praise and Worship team, "Encounter," at 7 p.m. Encounter, which usually performs at the 9:45 a.m Contemporary service at St. John's Church, has been together for approximately two years. The band, which consists of Ron Williamson, Carlton Parker, Kevin Brown, Johnny Tamosaitis, Greg Brittingham, the Rev. Dave Humphrey, Mike Gilbert, Sally Stewart, Karen Handy, Susan Humphrey, the Rev. Kari Jones and Leanne Parks, led last year's Caroling in the Park. This concert is free to the public, so bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of song and worship.
Reunion planners meeting

Gold Rush program
Of the 85,000 men who headed for California during the 1849 Gold Rush, one-fourth were foreigners who contended not only with harsh conditions of the wilderness, but with hatred and prejudice. Counted among these, were Chinese immigrants who had mortgaged their futures and left all behind. The American West was built with the sweat and blood of such rugged people.
On Monday, June 25 at 11 a.m., the Seaford Library will host a special program presented by the Delaware Humanities Forum, that will bring one such character to life. Journey back to 1874 and meet Dr. Yee, Gold Rush Doctor. Yee Fung Cheung came to California in order to prospect for gold, but found a better living treating the sick with the herbal medicines and concoctions brought with him from China. Flea Market & Barbeque
American Legion Post 6, 230 Front St., Seaford, will sponsor a Flea Market and Chicken Barbeque on Saturday, June 23. Flea Market from 7 a.m. til 1 p.m. Table Rent $5, Call 629-9915 to reserve. Barbeque starts at 11:30 p.m. till ? and includes: 1/2 chicken, potato salad, baked beans and roll , $5.
Fitness Session started
St. John's United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, will hold a "Tried and True" fitness session on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, began June 18 at 9 a.m. (Quality, Free Childcare). All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Co-ed, non-competitive, stress reducing, high/low aerobic toning, strengthening, and stretching class. Try a free one!
