Crab Cake dinner
The Ladies’ Auxiliary of VFW Post 4961 will be having a Crab Cake Dinner on Friday, June 20, at 6 p.m. The crab cake platter, which costs $7, will include homemade potato salad, coleslaw, string beans and rolls. If you wish, you can get a crab cake sandwich for $5.50. Our Post is located in Seaford on Middleford Road east of Route 13. Call 629-3092 for more information.

Seaford Library ‘Feng Shui’
“Feng Shui” will be presented by Essential Feng Shui Certified Instructor Leslie Lynn Umstetter at the Seaford District Library on Monday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. Ms. Umstetter was certified by the Western School of Feng Shui of Solana Beach, Calif.
According to the Wetern School of Feng Shui, the practice of Feng Shui sees the world as completely alive, with everything, including buildings, streets and property, interconnected in a dynamic relationship that affects everything we experience. The growing popularity of Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese system of environmental placement, is the direct result of its extraordinary effects on the people it touches. The program will give you insights into how your landscaping and architectural design can be improved using the principles of Feng Shui.
This program is free and open to the public.

Seaford Library Summer Reading
The Seaford District Library Summer Reading Program is still open to those children that would like to participate. Come to the library to register and check out all the great books. Do something fun this summer and READ!
Our program will feature “Once Upon A Time” by performer Michael Richmond-Boudewyns on Monday, June 23, at 7 p.m. Michael Richmond-Boudewyns dramatic interpretations of classic children’s literature is fun for the young and the young at heart! Historical Society picnic
The Seaford Historical Society annual picnic for members will be held on the lawn of the Ross Mansion on Monday, July 7, at 6 p.m.
Each family should bring a covered dish of either salad, vegetable or dessert. The Society provides chicken and beverages. There is a charge of $1 per person to cover the involved costs.
Roger A. Martin who had a distinguished career as a member of the Delaware Senate for 22 years will talk about facts of Delaware history. He has authored several books about Delaware including “Tales of Delaware,” “Delaware Medal of Honor Winners,” and biographies of Gov. Elbert W. Carvel and Gov. Sherman W. Tribbitt.
Reservations are absolutely necessary and must be made before Thursday, July 3. Call 628-9500 and leave a message or call Anne Nesbitt at 628-7788 to make a reservation.
Anyone who is not a member but would like to attend may join that night. Annual dues are $10 per individual or $15 per family.
SHS Class of 1988
Seaford High School Class of 1988, 15 year Class Reunion, will be held on Saturday, July 12, with a reception/registration from 2-4 p.m. at the Seaford High School. There will be light refreshments. Atlantic City trip
The Nanticoke Senior Center is planning a trip to Atlantic City, Sept. 3-4. The trip includes: transportation by motorcoach, accommodations at the Tropicana Casino Hotel, one buffet breakfast, lunch and one buffet dinner.
Admission to the show at the Tropicana, and a $10 casino bonus. Cost is $142 double occupancy; or $172 single occupancy. Included in cost: taxes and gratuities, baggage handling, driver and tour manager.

Three Little Bakers
Nanticoke Senior Center is planning a trip to Three Little Bakers show “The Goodbye Girl” on Wednesday, July 16, departure time is 3 p.m.
Included in the trip: Motor coach transportation, great food, fabulous desserts, Cost is $50 for members, $60 for non-members. Sign up early for this dinner theatre production.
The show is set is New York city, this witty and tuneful musical is based on Neil Simon’s well-known film about an unlikely romance between a bitter single woman who has been jilted too many times and an opinionated actor who shows up on her doorstep with a lease to sublet her apartment. The musical score is by Marvin Hamlisch.
