Centenary Church VBS
Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, will have Vacation Bible School from June 27-July 1, 9 to 11:30 a.m. Children from the ages of 4 through sixth grade are invited to attend. This year's program is called "Construction Zone Building Character Like Jesus." Each day, children will learn through the Bible story, music, songs, crafts, games and snacks. Pre-registration is encouraged by picking up a form at the church, or by calling 875-3983.

Father's Day program
The Father's Day singing program that was scheduled for June 18 at the United Church of the Nazarene, 4718 Jackson St., Hurlock, Md., has been canceled due to illness of one of the group members. The service will continue, but not with the singers and the prizes will still be awarded to the oldest, youngest, and father with the most children. For more information phone 1-410-943-0900.

Gethsemane Church VBS
"Kingdom of the Son" Vacation Bible School at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, begins June 27 and continues through July 1, at 2701 Woodland Ferry Road, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Call 628-8149 for more information.

Presbyterians celebrate
On Sunday, June 5, the Presbyterian churches across the country celebrated the 75th anniversary of the first women to serve in an official capacity in the Presbyterian Church. The Seaford Presbyterian Church held a special program which was presented by the women. The sermon by the Rev. Laurie Brumbaugh was "We've Come a Long Way, Baby." The first women elders and deacons in the Seaford Presbyterian Church was 1971.

Evangelism classes coming
Evangelism classes start on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. Classes will run on a four-week cycle at the River of Life Christian Center, 17 West Market St., Greenwood. For more information call the church office at 349-9420.

Vacation Bible School
Lifeway Church of God, located on Rt. 404 in Bridgeville will have Vacation Bible School, "Serengeti Trek," from July 17 to July 21 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. (Formerly the Bridgeville Church of God.) Phone 337-3044 for more information.

Youth Service in Greenwood
A Friday Nite Live Youth Service (ages 13 to young adult) starts on Aug. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at River of Life Christian Center, 17 West Market St., Greenwood. For more information call the church office at 349-9420.
Church fund raiser
As part of their 50th anniversary celebration on June 26 Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford will be selling wooden replicas of their church building, manufactured by "The Cat's Meow" in Wooster, Ohio. The cost of the 50th anniversary souvenir replica is $20 each. Anyone who would be interested in purchasing one of the replicas should contact the church at 629-9755. Members of the Congregational Service Team of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, who attend the church, helped organize the event. The first $850 raised will be matched by the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Home Office in Appleton, Wisc.

Laurel Prayer breakfast
Tickets are available for the Laurel Fourth of July Prayer Breakfast. Tickets at $10 each may be purchased at Bev's Specs or by calling the Laurel Chamber of Commerce office at 875-9319. Deadline for ticket purchase is Wednesday, June 22. The breakfast begins at 8 a.m. at Laurel Centenary Church.

Service for the Rev. Price
A celebration of Life Service for the Rev. John O. Price will be held on Saturday, June 18, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Seaford. The Rev. Boyd Etter and the Rev. Richard Evans will be officiating.

Mt. Olivet summer studies
Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church will host summer Sunday School and Bible studies this summer. Starting Sunday, June 19, and continuing for five Sundays to July 24, at 9:45 a.m., in Fellowship Hall, children, youth and adults will participate in singing, Bible study, crafts and drama. Vacation Bible School, "The Kingdom of the Son" will be offer the week of July 25 to 29 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. All are welcome. Call the church office 629-4458.

Latin Mass June 19
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on June 19. The mass is always a Missa Cantata using traditional Gregorian chant. For further information, call 302-674-5781.

'Ranch House Kids'
Be a part of the adventure at the Circle G Ranch. This western-themed Vacation Bible School will be held at Concord United Methodist Church starting Monday, June 20, and ending Friday, June 24, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Each night's adventure will include a Bible story, crafts, games, music, and more. Everyone from pre-school age through eighth grade is welcome. For registration call the church office at 628-8114.
