Quartet to mark anniversary
The Epworth Quartet, a Laurel-based southern gospel group, is celebrating four decades of ministry with two events in June. The group will host a dinner concert at Greenwood Mennonite School on Friday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. Performing will be the Lights of Home of Laurel and the Calhoun Family of Milford. For ticket information, call 875-2043. On Saturday, June 15, the quartet will sponsor a concert by the Dixie Melody Boys of Kinston, N.C., at Seaford High School. The 7 p.m. concert is free and open to the public.

Trinity UMC plans trip
Trinity United Methodist Church, Bridgeville, is sponsoring a trip to see “Daniel” at the Sight and Sound theater in Lancaster, Pa., on Friday, Aug. 9. Tickets are $53 for adults. Call 628-9902 for details.

Chapel to take trip to theater
A bus trip to the Sight and Sound Living Waters Theater in Lancaster, Pa., for the show, “Abraham and Sarah,” will be Saturday, June 29, sponsored by Chaplain’s Chapel, Bridgeville. Centenary plans Bible school
Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel will hold vacation Bible school June 17 through 21. Children from age 4 through the sixth grade are welcome. This year’s program, SonCanyon River Adventure, will feature a river expedition theme. The children will study skills for life found in the Book of Proverbs. Daily activities will include music, crafts, Bible stories and games. The morning session will be held from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Enrollment will be limited to 140 children. An evening session will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Registration forms are available at the church or by calling Karen Tull (628-0444).

Dunbar reunion planned
Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Laurel will hold a school reunion service Sunday, June 16, at 4 p.m. for people who attended Paul Lawrence Dunbar School.
Historic church tour set
The Laurel Bicentennial Committee, in conjunction with St. Philip’s Church, will sponsor a church bus tour Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The tour will depart from St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, at 601 South Central Ave., Laurel, and will visit Green Hill Church (1743) near Whitehaven, Md.; Spring Hill Church (1773) near Hebron, Md.; St. Mark’s Episcopal Church near Delmar, Del.; and Laurel’s Old Christ Church (1773). Blades UMC plans trip
The Blades United Methodist Church is again sponsoring a cruise as a fund-raiser. Participants will travel by chartered motor-coach on Sept. 28 to New York City and then on to a one-week fall foliage cruise through New England and Canada. Church of God plans VBS
Vacation Bible school will be held at East Clarence Street Church of God, June 17 through 21. The theme is “Faith Mountain: An Extreme Adventure With Jesus,” for ages 5 through adulthood. Classes will be Monday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday, 6 to 8 p.m.

Bible school to blast off
The First Baptist Church of Seaford will hold vacation Bible school June 17 through 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme is Space Station 2002. Children age 2 to 12 are welcome. For more information call 629-7161.

Church plans ‘visit’ to Egypt
Concord United Methodist Church will hold its annual Bible school Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21. This year’s theme, “Courageous Kids,” centers around Egypt and the Nile during Biblical times. Participants will explore ancient Biblical days. Church of God Youth Day June 30
The Annual Youth Day Celebration Services will be held at East Clarence Street Church of God, Seaford, on Sunday, June 30, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. God’s messenger for the morning service is Min. Dawanda White, Macedonia United Methodist Church, Dames Quarter, Md. Afternoon guests are Min. Clarice Moyer and the New Beginning Church of God Choir of Kent Island, Md. The church’s Youth Choir, Spiritual Light Choir and the Unity for Christ Team will be ministering in music and creative expressions in these services.
