Club to celebrate birthday
The Spade and Trowel Garden Club will celebrate its 45th birthday with a luncheon Tuesday, June 13, 11 a.m. at the Seaford Golf and Country Club. Past presidents and guests have been invited.

Preschool has openings
St. John's Preschool has a few openings available in the 4-year-old's morning and afternoon classes for the 2000-2001 school year. Parents who register their children by June 15 and who pay the first month's tuition will receive a 50-percent discount off the registration fee. The school is located on Pine and Poplar streets in Seaford and is open to any child regardless of race, creed, nationality, sex or religion. Call Debby Shockley at 629-9466 for more nformation.

Senior center seeks volunteers
The Homebound Meal Delivery Program at the Nanticoke Senior Center, Seaford, is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to senior citizens shut-ins. For more information, contact Cindy at the center, 629-4939.

Block Watch to meet
The Old Seaford Block Watch will meet Monday, June 12, 7 p.m., at the Seaford Police Station (use front door). Participants will compile surveys and plan a picnic. Refreshments will be served.

Alumni to meet June 15
The executive committee of the Seaford High School Alumni Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, at the Boys & Girls Club on Virginia Avenue. This meeting is open to all members of the association.

Alumni planning fund-raiser
The Seaford Alumni Association is selling a '2000' mug featuring Seaford Senior High School. Mugs are $6 each and are available at the Seaford School administration Office, Burton Bros. hardware and Heritage Jeweler's. All profits go to the scholarship fund.

Senior Center plans trips
The Nanticoke Senior Center, Seaford, has two trips planned. On Wednesday, Aug. 16, a trip is planned to see 'The King and I' at the Three Little Bakers theater. Cost is $45 for members and $50 for non-members. Reservations are being taken now.
A trip to the Branson Music Fest in Branson, Mo., will be Oct. 9 through 14. The trip will include professionally guided tour, numerous musical shows and trips to favorite tourist spots. Participants will stay at Ramada Inn in Branson, Mo. Travel will be a round-trip flight out of BWI and bus transportation will be provided in Branson. Price is $839 double occupancy, which includes the room, meals (breakfast and dinners only), transportation and shows/tours. For details on either trip call the Nanticoke Senior Center, 629-4939.

Place for toddlers to play
The Parents As Teachers program invites parents and their children from birth to age 3 to a free 'stay and play center' at Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation on Virginia Avenue. Sessions are on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The center provides an opportunity for parents and caretakers with young children to discuss any parenting questions with a parent educator. Other services include a lending library of children's and parenting books and evening group meetings on a variety of topics. For more information, call Chris Henderson at 875-2781.

In celebration of Flag Day
On Flag Day, June 14, the GrandpaJammers, a musical group from the Nanticoke Senior Center, Seaford, will perform patriotic, big band and contemporary music at the Laurel Library. The program will start at 7 p.m. For further information call 875-3184.

Prom picture frames for sale
The junior class of Seaford High School is selling prom picture frames. These black and gold wooden frames feature the 2000 prom theme. Proceeds benefit the class of 2001. Cost is $10 each. For details, call 629-4587, ext. 362.
