Library seeks board member
The Delmar Public Library Board of Commissioners is looking for a qualified
applicant to fill a vacancy on the board. Applicants must be residents of the
Delmar, Del., school district. The board oversees the library as representatives
of the community. They determine and adopt policies governing the operation and
program of the library. They develop and oversee the operating budget. They
actively support library legislation. The board meets at least six times a year.
The appointment will be made by the Resident Judge of Superior Court of Sussex

Program to start June 15
The Delmar summer reading program registration starts June 15. Participants will
rendezvous weekly on Thursday evenings at 6:30. Plans for the summer include
crafts, games, special guests and of course, lots of good books. An 'end of
program' party with awards, certificates, and refreshments is scheduled for Aug.
10 at 6:30.
A program, 'Once Upon a Time,' will be Thursday, June 22, at 7 p.m. and 'New
Sounds in Music' will be Saturday, June 24, at 1:30 p.m. For further information

Social set for June 24
Melson's United Methodist Church, Delmar, Md., located approximately 5 miles
east of Delmar on Melson Road, will hold an ice cream social Saturday, June 24,
