The annual Jewell Block Party
The annual Jewell Block Party was held Sunday, June 3, at Connie Wickham's house. There were about 32 neighbors who attended and enjoyed the covered-dish dinner. This annual block party was started several years ago by George and Doris Truitt and and has continued over the years through the efforts of the neighbors. Some played a game called "Trifles." This is a game like Monopoly but instead of having Boardwalk, etc., the game has Delmar businesses. The cards feature questions about the history of Delmar. Ann Adkins was the best at this game; she knew most of the answers. This game can be purchased at the town hall in Delmar.

Congratulations to Terry Frallic
Congratulations to Terry Frallic and Bonnie Cannon, teachers in the Seaford School District. They have just earned their master's degrees in teaching. This accomplishment took a lot of dedication and hard work while working and taking care of their home. I know they are both glad it's over - now they can enjoy their summer.

Delmar Library
Delmar Library's Children's Summer Reading Program sign-up starts Friday, June 8. Special programs begin June 21, 6:30 p.m., and will be every Thursday evening throughout the summer.

Stone grateful for community support
On behalf of the Delmar School District, I would like to thank our community for its wonderful support of both our successful transfer referendum and our new school dedication day. In addition, I want to thank the Cookie Bouquet of Delmar and the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Salisbury for their donations. I believe everyone who was able to attend our dedication ceremony will agree it was meaningful and memorable.
George E. Stone,
Superintendent, Delmar Schools
