Carey to serve as new Lion district governor
Delmar native Doug Carey will make Delmar Lions Club history on June 30 when he becomes the club’s first representative as district governor in its 67-year history. The Salisbury resident is not doing it for himself. Carey will take the oath of office on June 30 and will go to district governor school July 1-5. In his new role he will oversee all the clubs in the state of Delaware: 37 Lions Clubs, five Lioness Clubs and five Leo Clubs. He will present anything that comes down from the international level to each club and will also make sure that each club is running properly. Carey will install the Delmar Lions Club’s new officers during the club’s meeting on Wednesday, June 9.
