Leading up to pastor's departure
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 South Central Ave., Laurel, is holding a series of services through June 24, Dr. Brooks Reynolds' last day as pastor of the church. On Sunday June 3, the church will celebrate Pentecost. Members will burn the mortgage for the recently purchased Miracle House that is next door to the church. Reynolds will be speaker.

Yard, bake sale planned
The Seaford Presbyterian Church will hold a yard and bake sale Saturday, June 2, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Starting at 11 a.m., hot dogs, hamburgers and barbecued chicken dinners will be sold. The church is on alternate US 13A north, next to the Army Reserve Center.

Spring Fling set for June 2
Christ United Methodist Church, S. Central Ave., Laurel, will host a Spring Fling Saturday, June 2. A yard sale begins at 8 a.m., and beginning at 11 a.m. oyster, hamburger and hot dog sandwiches, along with homemade ice cream, will be sold.

Ice cream and a clown
Mt. Pleasant UMC Sunday school is sponsoring an ice cream festival Saturday, June 2, 4 to 7 p.m. Homemade ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers and soda will be available. Entertainment will be provided by Susan Davis, Keith Elliott and at 6 p.m., Bo Dickerson. Glory the Clown will visit and there will be face painting for the kids. Ninety & Nine plans dinner
The Ninety & Nine, a women's ministry, will hold its quarterly dinner meeting at the Methodist Manor House, Seaford, Monday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. Edna Dunn of Salisbury, Md., will be the guest speaker. She's active in the Salisbury Christian Women's Club and has served as regional representative for Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. Brenda Harper, Salisbury, will be the guest singer. Jericho to host Best speaker
Jericho Fellowship International will welcome Agatha Best as the guest speaker June 12 at Mt. Olivet Church, High Street, Seaford. Best is from Princess Anne, Md., and is an evangelist. She is minister at New Life Church in Cambridge, Md. For details call 629-5664.

Carper to discuss Bush plan
Sen. Tom Carper will hold an open discussion on faith-based initiatives Friday, June 1, at Delaware State University's Science Center in Dover from 10 a.m. to noon. President Bush's proposal to give federal funds to faith-based charities has generated considerable discussion. A representative of the White House has been invited. Service of healing planned
Laurel-Mt. Pleasant Charge will hold a service of healing and reconciliation at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Sunday, June 3, at 7 p.m. There will be musical selections from the charge churches and community. The church is located on Delaware 24 west of Laurel at the corner of Mt. Pleasant Road.

Snethen social set for June 9
Snethen United Methodist Church will hold a social Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be oyster and chicken salad sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs as well as oyster and chicken salad platters. Baked goods, vegetable soup, and dumplings and homemade ice cream will also be available. Carry-outs will be sold. The church is located in Mardela Springs, Md., on Maryland 54, 2 miles east of the US 50 stoplight at Mardela.

Bethel Church plans events
On Saturday, June 9, at 6 p.m., a covered-dish dinner will be held at Bethel Community House, Oak Grove. For details, call Lucy Slacum, 629-7117. On Sunday, June 10, at 10:15 a.m., Bethel United Methodist Church, Oak Grove, will present music by the Eden Family from Gate City, Va.

Summer kids' program set
The Seaford Church of the Nazarene is sponsoring a Wednesday-night program for children 3 to sixth grade. There will be a kick-off Wednesday, June 6, 7 p.m. at the church at 520 S. Dual Hwy., Seaford. For details, call 629-3939.
