Mt. Calvary plans homecoming
Mt. Calvary AME Church will hold its annual homecoming service Sunday, May 28, at the church in Concord. The regular worship service will begin at 11 a.m. The Rev. Anthony Moore, Carolina Missionary Baptist Church, Washington, D.C., will speak at the afternoon service, which will start at 3:30. For details, call Cheryl Johnson, 629-6549.

Starr to be speaker
The 25th annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast hosted by Salisbury Mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman will be May 25 at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center. The speaker will be Kenneth W. Starr. Kellye Cash Sheppard, Miss America 1987, will sing. Tickets are $15. Seating is limited to 2,000. For details, call Bill Rictor, 410-749-8885.

Mt. Zion plans festival
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Laurel-Seaford Highway, Laurel, will host a festival Saturday, May 27, 3 p.m. Foods will include homemade ice cream, cakes and pies, oyster sandwiches and platters, hamburgers and hot dogs and chicken salad. Carry-outs will be available.

Annual strawberry fest set
Blades United Methodist Church will sponsor a strawberry festival Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Blades Park, East 7th Street. Foods featured will be: homemade ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, crab cakes, drinks, French fries and baked goods. There will be games, entertainment, carriage rides,and door prizes. In case of rain the festival will be held in the community house on West 4th Street.

Mt Zion to celebrate women
Women's Celebration Sunday sponsored by New Zion United Methodist Church, Laurel, is May 28. At the 11 a.m. service, the Rev. Janice N. Austin of Poplargrove Baptist Church, Darnestown, Md., will speak. The Rev. Barbara Loper Johnson of Stillpond Coleman Charge will speak at 4 p.m. The church is on Laurel-Seaford Highway, Laurel.
Jericho director to speak
Helen Lucia Moore, international director for Jericho, will address the Seaford chapter of Jericho Fellowship International Tuesday, June 13, 7 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Church, Seaford. This is the last meeting of the season. For more information call Mim Roberts, coordinator, at 629-5654.

Annual spring fest set
Church of God of Prophecy will host its spring festival Saturday, June 10, beginning at 9 a.m. Featured will be oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad, hamburgers and hot dogs, homemade ice cream, baked goods and a yard sale. The church is on US 13 North at Whitesville and Dorothy roads, Delmar.

Social to feature oysters
Snethen United Methodist Church, Mardela Springs, Md., will host a social Saturday, June 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured will be oyster and chicken salad sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs and oyster and chicken salad platters. The church is on Delaware 54, 8 miles west of Delmar.
