The Bridgeville Historical Society and the Bridgeville Lions Club will sponsor four community concerts in the Bridgeville Historical Society Park on Delaware Avenue in Bridgeville this summer.
The first concert will be on Wednesday, June 4, by the Woodbridge High School Band directed by Robert Lewis.
On Wednesday, July 2, the 287th Army Band, Delaware National Guard, will perform.
Citizens Hose Firemanís Band from Smyrna will perform on Wednesday, July 30.
The final summer concert will be a performance by the Milford Community Band.
Each concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy a free delightful outdoor concert.
Spring plant sale
Woodbridge High School Greenhouse, Gardens at the Bridge, will hold a Spring Plant Sale from now through May 30, during school hours until 4 p.m., 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The Greenwood Mennonite School will be holding its 17th Annual Greenwood Spring Festival on Saturday, June 7, on the school grounds.
The day begins with an old-fashioned, all-you-can-eat breakfast, 7:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. At 9 a.m. the outdoor booths open featuring hundreds of items including fresh-made foods, donuts, crab cakes, handcrafted items, antiques, books, new and used kids items, plants; plus a petting zoo, rides, and a quilting demonstration.
Antique tractors will also be featured this year, along with the popular Spring Festival Auction.
All proceeds from the Greenwood Spring Festival benefit the 75-year-old Greenwood Mennonite School, the longest-running Mennonite elementary school in the Untied States. GMS offers quality Christian education for grades k-12, with the current enrollment just under 300 students. The school is located on Mennonite School Road, between Routes 16 and 36, east of Greenwood.
Yu-GI-Oh Night returns
Yu-GI-Oh Night will return to the Greenwood Library on Friday, May 23, at 6 p.m. Kids are once again invited to the library to bring their Dueling Decks and gather for a night of friendly competition. Space is limited, so if you dare to duel, call Miss Donna Prine Carter at 349-5309 to make a reservation, or to find out more information. The Greenwood Library is located on the corner of Market and Mill streets.
Greenwood Library Movie
The Greenwood Public Library Family Movie night returns on Friday, May 30, at 6 p.m., with the well-loved film, ěDunston Checks In,î starring Jason Alexander and Faye Dunaway. Join us for this hilarious film about an orangutan who gets loose in an elegant hotel and, with the 10-year-old boy he befriends, tries to escape from his jewel-thief owner and the frantic hotel owner.
