Democrats plan fashion show
The Sussex County Women's Democrat Club's sixth annual fashion show will be Thursday, May 25, at Sussex Pines Country Club in Georgetown.
The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. The fashions will be from Cullum's Apparel of Georgetown. For additional information or tickets contact Pay Farley at 226-9044.

Dessert social set for May 23
The Seaford Branch of AAUW will host a dessert social Tuesday, May 23. Sue Manlove will be hostess and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Guests include this year's scholarship winner and a previous winner, Justin Caldro. Justin will talk about her experiences in college and recent travel adventures. For more information, call Diane LeCompte at 629-2249. Reservations are due May 20.

Golf tourney set for June 14
The Seaford Kiwanis Club announces plans for the 14th annual Foundation Golf Tournament. The proceeds from this anniversary event will go to the club's Foundation Endowment which provides scholarships to needy and well-deserved senior students each year.
The tournament is scheduled for June 16 at the Seaford Golf & Country Club. Businesses may sponsor a special event or donate a door prize. Anyone wishing to play should call for reservations immediately.
The entry fee will include buffet lunch, golf fee, cart, hospitality cart and awards party. Every participant will receive a bag of goodies and a door prize.
Awards up to $250 of merchandise, certificates for closest to the pin and straightest drive, plus a new car and other prizes for a hole in one will be available to all golfers.

Bike races set for Friday
Harley Davidson/Buell of Seaford and the Harley Davidson Shop of Ocean City are presenting the first AMA Hot Shoe Motorcycle Race at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington on May 19. The AMA Grand National race will be Saturday, May 20, at 8 p.m.
Harley Davidson/Buell of Seaford will also host an autograph signing with racer Jay Springsteen on May 18, 4 to 7 p.m.

'Sophie' coming to town
The Seaford Historical Society is sponsoring Evelyn Swensson and her one woman presentation, "Sophie DuPont (1810-1888) Delaware Renaissance Woman," Sunday, May 21, 3 p.m. at the Ross Mansion/Plantation. Swensson has written the show and will present it in period costume. Admission is free.
Swensson is a composer, lyricist, playwright, musician, singer and conductor. She was born in Virginia and has a bachelor of arts degree in piano and voice from Hollins College and a master of music degree from West Chester University.
She lived in Seaford from 1952 to 1965.

Auditions set for 'Alice'
Auditions for the Possum Point Players' Junior Production of "Alice in Wonderland" will be Sunday, May 21, 1:30 and 6:30 p.m., and Monday, May 22, 6 p.m. at Possum Hall, Georgetown. Performance dates will be July 21-23 and July 28-30.
The cast is made up of 11 girls, four boys and 27 interchangeable parts. For details, call 856-3460.

'Charlotte's Web' is coming
Seaford Christian Academy will present "Charlotte's Web," directed by Danielle Hofstetter, Friday and Saturday, May 26 and 27, at 7 p.m. in the SCA auditorium.
Tickets are available at the door $3 for students and $5 for adults.
