Trinity plans dinner, singing
Trinity United Methodist Church will host an Emming's chicken dinner, a bake sale and a hymn sing Friday, May 18. Tickets for the dinner are $6.50 and must be bought in advance. The hymn sing will be from 4 to 9 p.m. with Bill Dorey, Donna Brown, the St. Paul Gospel Singers and Back Porch Light & Friends. Trinity is located in Laurel (near Trap Pond). Gospel concert May 20
A gospel concert with Everett Warrington of Bridgeville and Portsville youth and adult choirs will be Sunday, May 20, 6:30 p.m. at Portsville United Methodist Church, Dogwood Lane (just west of Bethel). For details call 875-4672.

Gethsemane to be open
Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 4 miles west of Seaford, is having an open house at the new church building Sunday, May 20, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Regular worship at 11 a.m. will feature firemen who fought the fire three years ago that destroyed the old church. A consecration service will be at 4 p.m. with district superintendent Rev. H. Sterling Green as the keynote speaker. Former pastors and those who have entered the ministry from the church will be in attendance. The neighboring Mt. Hope UMC Choir will present music. A celebration dinner will follow the service in the Gethsemane fellowship hall, hosted by St. John's UMC.

Church of God plans festival
A spring festival will be held at the Delmar Church of God of Prophecy, US 13 N at Whitesville Road, Delmar/Laurel area, Saturday, May 19, starting at 9 a.m. Food available will be oyster and crab cake sandwiches, soft crab, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken salad, scrapple sandwiches, homemade ice cream and baked goods. There will also be a yard sale.

Centenary to honor youth
Centenary U. M. Church will hold a service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 20, to recognize the church's youth and honor its high school graduates.

Mt Calvary to mark birthday
Mt. Calvary AME Church in Concord will celebrate its 135th anniversary Sunday, May 20, at 3:30 p.m. Michael Washington, pastor at Bethel AME Church in Beverly, N.J., and members of his choir and congregation will attend.

Celebrating God and country
Christ U.M. Church, 510 South Central Ave., Laurel, will present a Patriotic Review in honor of Memorial Day Sunday, May 20, 11 a.m. The Delaware National Guard and a member of every branch of the Armed Services will be present. Charlie Murray, blind since birth, of Wilmington, will be the featured pianist. Trumpeters will be Bob and Adam Lewis and soloists will be Calvin Hearn and Kathy Gorman. The Rev. Brooks E. Reynolds will speak on "what America means to me."
