Construction moving along quickly at Heritage Shores

By Lynn R. Parks

Construction of the first models at Heritage Shores, the 800-acre development on the south fringes of Bridgeville for people 55 and older, is expected to be complete by the end of this month, said sales consultant Sue Clow. By the time it is completed in about seven years, the gated golf community will have about 1,800 homes, she said. Houses in the development are being constructed by two companies, Lennar, a national homebuilding company based in Miami, and Brookfield Homes Corporation, a national homebuilding company based in Del Mar, Calif. Lennar is also doing the site work at the development. The main entrance off U.S. 13 south of Bridgeville is under construction now. Starting prices for the Lennar homes are in the mid-$300,000s, Clow said, and for the Brookfield homes in the high $200,000s. Top price is about $450,000.
Clow said that 12 homes are under construction now. She expects people to be able to begin moving in by the end of July. Ten homes have already been sold. Also under construction is the 18-hole golf course. Clow expects it to be complete by next May. The community will have a clubhouse with two dining rooms, a fitness center, a ballroom, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, a woodworking shop and a bocce court. These amenities will be open to residents only. Lots in the development are 55 by 125 feet and 65 by 125 feet. Houses range from 2,000 square feet to 2,700 square feet. Eight building plans, four from Lennar and four from Brookfield, are available. For further information, call (877) 276-2793 or visit the Web site at
