Platter to head Chancellor Care
Richard V. Platter of Delmar, Del., has been appointed administrator of Chancellor Care Center of Delmar. Platter received his administrator's licenses in 1989 and is licensed in both Maryland and Delaware. He received his bachelor of science degree from Frostburg State University. Platter comes to Chancellor Care Center with a diverse background in nursing home administration. He has served as both an interim and full-time administrator for small privately held homes and larger facilities. He is a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Salisbury, Md., where he is active on the board and leads missionary teams to other countries. He is also a licensed building contractor, president of Platter Construction Inc. and does work for the underprivileged. He and his wife Bonnie have three children, Sean, Autumn and Summer. His hobbies include scuba diving, softball, motorcycles, water and snow skiing, Corvettes, playing the saxophone and traveling.

Church of God to host spring festival
A spring festival will be held at the Delmar Church of God of Prophecy, US 13 S and Dorothy Road, Saturday, May 19 , 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food available will be oyster and crab cake sandwiches, homemade ice cream and baked goods.

Library to host band concert
The Milford Community Band will perform at the Delmar Public Library Saturday, May 26, 1 to 3 p.m., in celebration of the Centennial of the Delaware Division of Public Libraries. Friends of the Library will have a bake sale to support the library. Admission is free. Call 302-846-9894 for more information.

Church to host lunch, bake sale
Line United Methodist Church will sponsor a breakfast, lunch and bake sale Saturday, May 12, beginning at 7 a.m. Featured will be oysters, chicken salad and homemade ice cream.

St. Stephen's to sponsor bake sale
A bake sale will be held on Saturday, May 12, at Food Lion in Delmar beginning at 8 a.m. This is sponsored by St. Stephen's Methodist Church trustees.
