Christ UMC plans series
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 South Central Avenue, Laurel, will hold a series of services through June 24, which will be Dr. Brooks Reynolds' last service as pastor of the church. The theme will be "Forty Days of Love." On Sunday, May 13, the church will hold a Mother's Day service with guest speaker Dr. Harriet Windsor Smith, Delaware's Secretary of State. On Sunday, May 20, there will be a Memorial Day service. Sunday, May 27, Agriculture Service Day will honor local farmers. Secretary of Agriculture Jack Tarburton, and other dignitaries will speak. On Sunday, June 3, the church will celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the church, with the burning of the mortgage for the recently purchased Miracle House next door to the church. Dr. Reynolds will speak.

Church of God plans revival
East Clarence Street Church of God, Seaford, will hold revival services May 7 through 11. The Rev. David Poitier will be the guest evangelist.

Friday is night of song
Trinity United Methodist Church will host its Friday Nite Opry May 11 featuring Roy Whaley & Friends Stained Glass Bluegrass. On May 18, the church is hosting an Emming's chicken dinner, a bake sale and a hymn sing. Tickets for the dinner are $6.50 and must be bought in advance. The hymn sing will be from 4 to 9 p.m. with Bill Dorey, Donna Brown, The St. Paul Gospel Singers and Back Porch Light & Friends. Trinity is located in Laurel (near Trap Pond). Indoor yard sale planned
Blades United Methodist Church will have an indoor yard sale Saturday, May 12, at the Blades Community House, West 4th Street. Doors will open at 7 a.m.
Awards for Scouts
The Catholic Church has a program of awards which may be earned by members of the various age levels of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Bethany Church plans buffet
A fried chicken buffet will be held Saturday, May 19, at Bethany Church-Lowes Crossroads near Millsboro. Serving will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Admission for adults is $8.50 and for children, $4. Carryouts will be available for $8.50. Baked goods will be available.

Gospel concert May 20
A gospel concert with Everett Warrington of Bridgeville and Portsville youth and adult choirs will be Sunday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Portsville United Methodist Church, Dogwood Lane (just west of Bethel). For more information call 875-4672.

Traditional Latin mass set
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on May 20. The mass is always a Missa Cantata using traditional Gregorian chant. For further information, call 674-5905 or 629-8863.
