The Antiques Roadshow Fair sponsored by the Seaford Historical Society will be held in The Methodist Manor House Fellowship Hall on Middleford Road in Seaford.
The date is Saturday, May 17. The time is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, which entitles one to bring two items for evaluation. Additional items may be presented for $2 each.
As part of the show some of the residents of the Manor House will open their apartments for viewing of their antiques by those who have paid admission. For further information, call Connie Chapman, 629-8108.
Seniors plan trips
Nanticoke Senior Center, 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford, will hold a trip to the Three Little Bakers Theater to see “The Goodbye Girl,” on Wednesday, July 16. Departure time is 3 p.m. Motor Coach transportation, great food, and fabulous desserts, all provided for cost of $50 for members, $60 for non-members. Call 629-4939 to reserve your seat.
Community Pool opening
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the Community Pool will open Memorial Day weekend, May 30. Memberships are available. Swim lessons for youth will be available. Rentals for Pool Parties, Birthday Parties, etc., will also be available. Call 629-6809.
Concerts in the Park
Seaford Main Street will once again be hosting their Concerts in the Park series. The series will feature free monthly concerts at Gateway Park at High and Market streets. The next two concerts are:

Seaford Chamber dinner
Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Spring General Membership Dinner, on Thursday, May 22, at Nanticoke River Yacht Club. Social Hour and cash bar begins at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Caterer is Chef Jerry Fletcher. Cost is $15 per person.
The Athena Award will be presented to an individual who advances leadership opportunities for all women. The award is sponsored by Seaford Burton, Chevrolet - Oldsmobile Dealer.
The John A., Jr. and Helen Moore, Community Service Award will be presented to an individual recognized for selfless volunteer service to the community. Reservations must be made in advance by Friday, May 16.
Seaford Block Watch
The Olde Seaford Block Watch is meeting on Thursday, May 8, 7 p.m., to make plans for a Neighborhood Clean-Up Day and Downtown Landscaping Clean-Up. The meeting will take place at Seaford Police Station, downstairs meeting room. Refreshments will be served … your support and ideas are appreciated!
Acorn Club Banquet
The GFWC-Acorn Club of Seaford annual banquet will be held at the Eastern Star, May 8. Social 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Our program will feature Jeanine and Jeff Scott.
Dinner and Auction
All-You-Can-Eat Lasagna Dinner & Auction to benefit the Seaford High School Band, Saturday, May 10, at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Third and Pine streets in Seaford.
Take-outs will be available from 4 to 5 p.m. only. Dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Seaford High School Jazz Band.

The Seaford Police Department is seeking young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21, who are interested in participating in the Police Explorers Program. The Police Explorers are affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America and is designed to help prepare young adults with the leadership and professional skills necessary for a career in Law enforcement. The Seaford Swimming Association, a private, family-oriented pool, located west of Seaford on Craig’s Mill Pond Road, is accepting memberships for the summer swimming season.
A summer swim team, swimming lessons, parties, a big baby pool as well as barbecue grills are available to member families. Open house Monday, May 26, (Memorial Day) from 2-5 p.m.
A $25 discount off the new member initiation fee will be given to all new members who join prior to June 1.
