Gov. Ruth Ann Minner will host the 45th annual Governor’s Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 5, at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.
Lenny Moore, a former Baltimore Colts running back and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, will speak at the breakfast. Moore has devoted his life to youth programs and other community service and as a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he travels the country speaking to churches, organizations and youth groups. Moore works for the Maryland Department of Juvenile Justice in Baltimore. “We are very fortunate to have Lenny share his message with us,” Minner said. “It is very admirable of him to have devoted his entire life to helping our nation’s youth. The prayer breakfast also gives an opportunity for all denominations, including our elected officials, members of the judiciary, members of the military, spiritual leaders, representatives from communities and educational institutions to join together to ask for guidance in the pursuit of our common goal of service.” Doors will open at 6:30 a.m. for the buffet breakfast, and the program will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Modern Maturity Center on Forrest Avenue in Dover.
