Chicken BBQ set for April 29
A chicken barbeque to benefit Delmar Boys Scout Troop 174 will be Saturday, April 29, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per platter. The booth will be set up in the Delmar Wilmington Trust parking lot at the intersection of US 13 and State Street.

Library has new story time
The Delmar Public Library is expanding its services to the children of the local area. In addition to the current story times on Wednesday morning, there will now be an evening story time on Thursdays.
Hours for the Wednesday story times are 10 to 10:30 a.m., and 10:30 to 11 a.m.
The story time on Thursdays will be from 6:30 till 7 p.m. There will be stories, activities and fun for all children ages 3 to 11 years old.

Library volunteer honored
Madeline Hudson has been awarded a certificate of appreciation for her support of the Delmar Public Library as a volunteer. According to John Phillos, librarian, Hudson is a devoted and dependable volunteer, more than willing to do whatever needs to be done in the Delmar Library. A past library board member, Hudson has helped with the children's summer reading program and with library fund raising.
Phillos said, "This year, Mrs. Hudson donated yarn, made dish cloths and tea towels for the library to sell at Christmas time. The money raised was used to buy large print books. As a long-time resident of Delmar, she always makes our patrons feel welcome."

Ambulance fund drive ongoing
The Delmar Fire Department is ambulance fund drive is under way. Membership applications have been mailed for the year 2000.
Those not receiving information may contact the department for membership applications and information at 302-846-2530. The individual/couple charge is $25; family, $30; business, $35.
