Wesley UMC yard sale
Wesley United Methodist Church will be having a yard sale on Saturday, May 14, on the church grounds. Rain date is May 21. The time will be from 7 a.m. to noon. Spaces are 10 ft. wide and 20 ft. deep. (One vehicle per space). The cost of a space is $10. Provide your own table or rent one for $7 (while they last). For details or to reserve a space contact Pastor Ed Kuhling at 629-3029. The event will benefit the Wesley Church building fund.

Spring Rejuvenation Services
There will be spring rejuvenation services, featuring John Hobbs, with music by Kenny Davis and Scott Hobbs ministering to the youth, at Epworth Fellowship Church, Laurel, April 24-26, at 7 p.m. each service. Free childcare is provided. There will be a spaghetti dinner on April 24, from 5-6:45 p.m. Requested donation of $5/adult, $3/under 12. Proceeds benefit EFC Youth.

Gospel Music May Jamboree
The Seaford Chapter Country Gospel Music Association May Jamboree will take place on Saturday, May 7, starting at 7 p.m. in the Mason-Dixon Auction Building in Delmar. Take US 13 to Delmar, turn west at the light, go through town, and the building is on the left just over the railroad tracks. A free will offering will be taken to help Christian artists. Biker Sunday at Bayshore
Biker Sunday will take place on May 15 at the Bayshore Community Church in Gumboro at the 11 a.m. service. Arrive early to register for door prizes. All motorcycles are welcome with special bike parking. Lunch will be provided: hot fresh open pit beef sandwiches, corn on the cob, baked beans and hot dogs. Union Station Diner
Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, (across from the bank) will be having its monthly Union Station Diner on Wednesday, April 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under. They will be serving roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetable and dessert. Call the church with questions, 337-7409.

House of Praise event
The following event will be happening at The House of Praise For All People, 10280 Shawnee Road, Greenwood: Sunday, April 24 - Dennis DeGrasse will be speaking at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. He will be teaching from the scriptures as well as ministering prophetically and praying for the sick.

Union UMC yard sale
Union United Methodist Church will hold a yard sale, Saturday, April 23, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the fellowship hall at 2 Laws St., Bridgeville. Call 337-7409.

Galestown Hymn Sing
Galestown United Methodist Church will have its annual spring hymn sing on Sunday, April 24, at 2 p.m., featuring the Sacred Sounds Gospel Blue Grass Singers.

Oak Ridge Baptist outreach
On Sunday, April 24, Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Salisbury, Md., will be taking its services on the road. The church will be offering a worship service to the 1200-plus walkers of WalkAmerica at a location in the large grassy area next to the Moose Lodge on Snow Hill Road. The church will not be having services at its normal location on April 24, so that everyone can be a part of this event. Church members will be collecting money for the March of Dimes.
Oak Ridge Baptist Church will bring the word of God to the 1,200-plus people at this public event. Church members will raise needed resources for an agency serving children. "We hope to change perceptions of the community about the role of the church," said church spokesperson Morgan Hazel. "The church needs to break out of the mold. Our goal is to impact the community. We need to move the message to people rather than always try to move people to the message."

'Spirit Wynd' at St. Paul's
"Spirit Wynd" of Goldsboro, Md., will be at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, on Sunday, April 24, at 7 p.m. St. Paul's is located on Old Stage Road in Laurel, east of US 13. This full-time Evangelistic Ministry has traveled the East Coast and has been heard throughout the world communicating to every age and culture. The public is welcome to attend this service of gospel music. Admission is free but a free will offering will be taken. For more information, phone 856-6107.

No Name Band at Grace

Clarence St. Church of God
The Clarence St. Church of God in Seaford will host a live concert, featuring Carlton L. Cannon, Jr. and JABARI, on April 22, at 7:30 p.m. This popular ensemble plays a blend of gospel and jazz music. Free admission. Call 629-9443 for more information.

Gospel music in Laurel
Shiloh Community Church will have an evening of gospel music on Sunday, April 24, at 6 p.m. The featured gospel singers will be Earl Robinson from Dagsboro and Ronny Wheatley from Seaford. The Rev. Mark Erskine, pastor, invites the public to attend.

New Zion block party
The Sunday School of new Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel is sponsoring its second annual "Balling for God" basketball tournament and block party on Saturday, June 11, on Webb Avenue in west Laurel from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year's block party and tournament are dedicated to the memory of the victims of the April 7 shooting rampage that began in Laurel. There will be games, vendors and community awareness exhibits. The basketball tournament will consist of teams of four. The age brackets are 9-11, 12-14, and 15-18. The cost per team is $8. Community Prayer Box
Epworth Fellowship Church in Laurel wants to share with the community about a new ministry called Community Prayer Box. If you have a prayer need and would like somebody to pray for you, you can find prayer boxes located at O'Neal's Antiques (corner of U.S. 13 and Sycamore Road) and Dukes Lumber Company (Dukes Lumber Road), both in Laurel. Requests will be picked up on a weekly basis and prayed for at weekly services. If you are a local business and would like to host a Community Prayer Box, call the church office at 875-7995.

National Day of Prayer
The public is invited to attend the National Day of Prayer service held on Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at the Greenwood Memorial VFW Post 7478 (Governors Avenue) in Greenwood. Area churches and members of the Post and Ladies Auxiliary will participate in a meaningful program of song and prayer on behalf of our country. The keynote speaker will be Capt. Barry Ball, a chaplain in the USAF Reserves. A freewill offering will be taken for the National Day of Prayer Task Force, and refreshments will be served by the ladies auxiliary of Post 7478.
