'Home Cooking' returns to Possum Point Players
Possum Point Players (PPP) will premiere a dinner theater, at Possum Hall in Georgetown, for the Saturday, April 29, performance of their spring musical "Man of La Mancha."
The meal will be prepared by Bonnie Reeves, Mary Ann Hook and Louise Hartzell, assisted by their husbands, Lou, Al and Jim, respectively. This is the same group that prepared the meals that became so popular when PPP held its January dinner theater in Millsboro several years ago.
The cost of the dinner theater will be $30 a person and the main entree will be the Chicken in filo dough that was so popular in Millsboro. Tickets for the musical only are $13 with a $2 discount on Sunday matinees for students and senior citizens.
Season ticket holders will be charged an additional $17 since this dinner theater is not part of the original season.
The show will open on Friday, April 28, at 8 p.m. On Saturday, April 29, doors for dinner theater patrons will open at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. The show will follow at 8 p.m.
The show on Sunday, April 30, will be at 2 p.m. Closing weekend will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 5, 6 and 7. Show times will be 8 p.m., 8 p.m., and 2 p.m., respectively. Call PPP's ticketline at 856-4560.

Fashion Show May 25
The Sussex County Women's Democrat Club's Sixth Annual Fashion Show will be held Thursday, May 25, at Sussex Pines Country Club in Georgetown.
The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. The fashions will be from Cullum's Apparel of Georgetown.
Chairperson is Jane W. Horn, ticket chairperson is Pat Farley, and decorating chairperson is Suzanne Layton, who will endeavor to have a new and interesting decor for late spring and early summer.

Sussex County Senior Services, Inc. has available a limited edition of Cat's Meow. This rendition of the CHEER Community Center is the first of a series that will include each of the buildings in the CHEER community development as they are completed. Miss Delaware tournament
The Miss Delaware and Miss Eastern Shore Organizations will host a golf tournament to benefit their scholarship funds on May 5 at the Marsh Island Golf Club in Lewes.
The event will begin at 1 p.m. shotgun in a four-man scramble format. Prizes will be awarded for holes-in-one and longest drives. Door prizes will be awarded.
A box lunch will be served from 11:30 until tee-off, and a dinner will follow the tournament. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $12 each until May 1.
Interested parties may RSVP no later than April 21. The field is limited to 25 four-person teams. Contact Bill Pusey at 934-6688.

Miss contestants sought
Contestants are being sought for the Miss Delaware Pageant. Applicants must be female, ages 17-24, single, and must live, work full-time or go to school full-time in the state of Delaware. For more information contact Sue Kuhling, director of Field Operations at (302) 678-0668.

Owens Campus Alumni
Expanded office hours and a discount on use of the Fitness Center have just been made available to members of the Delaware Tech Owens Campus Alumni Association.
Rhonda Tuman, alumni coordinator, will be in the office of Alumni Affairs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays. She will be available after 6 p.m. by appointment; call 855-5951.
Alumni Association members are eligible to use the college's Fitness Center, located in the Jason Technology Center.
Equipment includes stationary bikes, treadmills, weight machines, and free weights.
Individual and group fitness plans can be developed under the direction of a certified strength and conditioning specialist, available Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
The cost is $50 per semester. Participants must register by calling 855-1617.

Wine & Cheese Social
The CHEER Community Center will host a "Wine & Cheese Social" the last Thursday of each month. This month it will be April 27 in the lobby of the new facility located at the intersection of Rt. 9 & Sand Hill Road, Georgetown.
