Kiwanis Basket Bingo
The Kiwanis Club of Seaford will have a Basket Bingo featuring Longaberger baskets on Saturday, May 5, at the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club with the doors opening at 6 p.m. and games starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance (also includes a free raffle ticket) and $25 at the door. Tickets are available from Kiwanis Club members or at Tull's or Soil Service. During the event, there will be Longaberger door prizes awarded following each game. Additional cards, raffle tickets, and refreshments will be available. Free sodas to all players (must be 18 to play). Phone 629-0687 for more information.
Acorn Club meets April 26
The G.F.W.C.-Acorn Club of Seaford will hold its last business meeting, until September, on April 26. Members meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Seaford Library Community Room.
The program will be introduced by Education chairman, Barbara Nancarrow. The speakers will be the two Seaford Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Ambassadors, Jayce Lesniewski, a sophomore from Seaford Senior High School and Jenna Crossan a sophomore from Epworth Christian School. Pictures and article will follow.
The hostesses, Eleanor Hickey and Phyllis Nelson with their committee will prepare and serve refreshments. Anne Stewart, Marilee Bradley, Ruth Bannon, Martha Miller, Kathleen Davidson, Myrtle Cannon, Louise Epperson and Thelma Rickards will decorate tables with Spring flowers.
"Giving mother a fresh start" - the Seaford Library will host a Gardening Series on the following dates:
Thursday, April 26, 2 p.m., "Landscaping Design," a slide show with Louis Wilbanks.
Monday, April 30, 2 p.m., "Growing Flowers for Arrangements," by Master Gardener Lynn Unsetter, and "How to Arrange Flowers," with Anna Collins.
Monday, April 30, 7 p.m. - "Raising Hostas," a slide show by Ralph Keene from Delmarva's Hosta Society.
Wednesday, May 2, 7 p.m. - "Container Gardening," with Extension agent, Jay Windsor. Door prizes will be given and refreshments will be served at this time.
Seaford Library programs
The Seaford Library will hold its continuing Morning Storytime on Wednesdays at 10, and Afternoon Storytime on Thursdays at 2.
