Seaford Library notes
* Morning Storytime will be held on Wednesdays at 10.
* Afternoon Storytime will be held on Thursdays at 2.
* Friend's Yard Sale - The Friends of the Seaford Library will hold a Yard Sale on Saturday, May 19, from 8 to 12. Bring items for donation, excluding books and clothes, to the meeting room, Thursday or Friday, May 17-18.

Pageant contestants sought
The Seaford Lioness Club is sponsoring the annual Little Miss Seaford and Miss Seaford pageants this year on Friday, May 11. Contestants for the Little Miss pageant must be either in Kindergarten or first grade and must live in the Seaford School District. Contestants for the Miss Seaford pageant must be 14 prior to May 11 and cannot turn 18 during 2001. Contestants must also be a freshman, sophomore, or junior in high school and live in the Seaford School District. Applications for the Miss Seaford Pageant can be obtained through the offices of Seaford High School. Applications for the Little Miss Seaford Pageant are available at Seaford Kindergarten. Call 629-7791. Applications must be received by April 25. Mail completed form with a photo to Mrs. Jamie Myers, RR2 Box 46A, Seaford, DE 19973.

Olde Seaford Block Watch
Olde Seaford Block Watch meets Thursday, April 12, 7 p.m., at the Police Station. It is time to re-evaluate Block Watch surroundings: lighting, sidewalks, trees or bushes that are overgrown, trash piled up around houses.

Egg Hunt in Seaford
A Children's Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Seaford Elks Lodge #2458, on Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be prizes, hot dogs and drinks. Ages one-12 years-old. Open to the public. No raindate.

Country Peddler Bingo
The Seaford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will be sponsoring a Country Peddler Bingo Monday, April 16, at 7 p.m. at the Seaford Fire Hall. This will be a fundraiser for the S.V.F.D.L.A. No admission will be charged; must place an order to attend and play bingo. Country Peddler catalogs available, collectibles from $3.99 and up. Lots of gifts and refreshments. Wee Learner sign-ups set
Wee Learner Christian Prepschool, Seaford, is taking enrollments for the 2001-2002 school year. Classes for children ages 3 and 4 meet Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons or Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Children ages 4 and 5 meet on Monday and Tuesday mornings and Thursday and Friday afternoons. For details call 629-6261.

West Seaford wins award
West Seaford Elementary School, principal Dr. Ed Taylor, and HOSTS teacher Dot Rider recently earned national recognition for their efforts in mentoring at-risk students. They received the HOSTS (Help One Student To Succeed) award for quality assurance, which is presented to programs that achieve exemplary status for HOSTS programs in language arts. In the school year 1999-2000, the school had 46 students enrolled in the program in grades two and three. Eighty mentors contributed 1,726 hours to the program.
