Delmar teacher wins grant
Year 2001 Science, Math and Technology Mini-Grant Awards totaling $13,850 have recently been awarded. For the second year the Science, Math and Technology Alliance partnering with the DuPont Chapter Sigma Xi, Hardcore Composites, New County Master Gardeners and the Society of American Military Engineers has made this program available to public and non-public Delaware teachers.
Among winning teachers was Delmar Middle/High School project 4 teacher, Shauneen Giudice.
The award of $1,496 will fund a project to provide science materials, books and experiment kits for students to check out for use at home and during informal after-school science sessions.
Delmar Neighborhood Watch
The East Delmar Neighborhood Watch Program was organized in September 2000. Since then we have a watch commander and 12 watch patrol people who work directly with the Delaware State Police. We have put up "Watch Patrol Signs" in some areas east of US 13.
We will continue to watch our neighborhoods for crime.
We meet once a month, so keep watching and be safe. For more information, call 846-2425.
