Ministry planning auction
The Single Mom's Ministry, Laurel, is planning a spring silent auction of the work of local artists and craftspeople to benefit the ministry. Interested parties who would like to donate an item may call Bobbi at 875-8708. A reception, with the artists attending, will be held before the auction.

St. Luke's services set
Services during Holy Week continue at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Seaford, with the Maundy Thursday Agapˇ Supper today at 6 p.m. This will be followed by Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m., stripping of the altar, the reservation of the sacrament and a prayer vigil, which will begin at 8 p.m. On Good Friday, April 13, noon, the Liturgy and Holy Communion from the reserved sacrament and reading of the passion will be held. At 7 p.m., Stations of the Cross: A Walk in Jerusalem, written and delivered by the Rev. Cannon John Peterson, will be held. On Holy Saturday, April 14, the Liturgy of the Word will be presented at 10 a.m. On Easter Sunday morning at 7:45, the lighting of the Paschal candle will precede the 8 a.m. Festival Easter Holy Eucharist. At 10:15 a.m., the Festival Easter Holy Eucharist will also be held. The choir will sing at each of the services. The Rev. Jeanne W. Kirby will be officiant at the Easter Sunday services.

Trinity plans Easter services
Trinity Church of Dublin Hill will hold Easter Services. On Thursday, April 12, the church will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday, April 15, a sunrise service will be held in the grove at 6:30 a.m., followed by a continental breakfast. Easter worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Revival at Church of God
Church of God, on Stein Highway between Arch and Market streets, Seaford, is continuing its revival April 12 and 13, at 7 p.m. Evangelist Jackie Smith from New Jersey will be the speaker. Asbury to observe Holy Week
Asbury United Methodist Church, US 9, Hardscrabble, is planning Easter services. A Maundy Thursday service on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. will be led by the Rev. David Paul. The service will include communion with music by Shelly Hudson. Easter services will be held at 8 a.m., with coffee and donuts served in the community building following services. The church holds regular Sunday morning services at 9:30 a.m.

Charge to celebrate Easter
The Seaford (Bethel/Concord) Charge of United Methodist Churches announces the following Holy Week services, to be conducted by the Rev. Diane E. Melson. A Maundy Thursday service will be held on April 12, 7 p.m., at Concord U.M. Church Delaware 20A, east of Seaford). A Good Friday service will be held on April 13, 7 p.m. at Bethel U.M. Church (near Oak Grove). An Easter sunrise service will be held at Concord U.M. Church on Sunday, April 15, at 6:30 a.m. In addition, regular services will be held on Easter Sunday (9 a.m. at Concord U.M. Church and 10:30 a.m. at Bethel U.M. Church). Bethel charge services set
Bethel United Methodist Church Charge has planned services to celebrate Easter. On April 12, Maundy Thursday, a service will be held at 7 p.m., at Mt. Zion Church. On April 13, Good Friday, a service will be held at 7 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, Bethel. Holy Week at Christ Lutheran
Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley St., Seaford, announces its Holy Week schedule. On Maundy Thursday, a service with communion will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Good Friday service will be April 13 at 7:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, a sunrise service with communion will start at 7 a.m. and a second service with communion will start at 11 a.m.

Life Chain to protest abortion
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Seaford, will sponsor a Life Chain Friday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. The chain of people will form in front of the Catholic Church, extending down Stein Highway, to protest 40 million abortions. For more information call 875-7772 or 875-5744.

Play planned for Easter
Epworth Fellowship Church, Laurel, will present "The Life Giver," an evangelistic cantata featuring costuming, staging and drama, Saturday, April 14, and Easter Sunday, April 15, at 7 p.m. Admission is free and fellowship will follow. Church to hold bake sale
Line Church, Whitesville, will hold a breakfast, lunch and bake sale Saturday, April 14, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food includes: oysters, homemade ice cream, peas and dumplings, homemade soup and chicken salad.

Laurel sunrise service set
The Laurel Ministerial Association will hold an outdoor joint Easter sunrise service on Easter Sunday morning at 6 a.m., on the green at Laureltowne Redevelopment Corporation. The service will include several seasonal musical selections, the reading of the Easter story and an Easter devotional by the Rev. Dan Southern, pastor of Victory Tabernacle Church of God in Laurel. After the service, coffee and donuts will be served at the Cherry Tree Cafe, courtesy of the ministerial association.

Bridgeville service planned
A community Easter sunrise service will be held April 15, 6 a.m., at the cemetery pond next to the Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville. Breakfast will follow in the fellowship hall, served by the Union United Methodist Church men. Speaker will be Ward Messick, the church's new youth minister.

Bible center plans fund-raiser
The Bible Center Christian Academy will hold a Night of Elegance featuring pastor Antoine Hutchins and Teresa Johnson. This black-tie fund-raiser will be held at the Delmar Convention Center, Delmar, Saturday, April 21, 6 until 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 at the door. Trinity to hold carnival
Trinity Church at Dublin Hill will hold a Carnival Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a petting zoo, games and food. Proceeds will benefit UNICEF.

Mt. Calvary plans revival
Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Church in Concord will hold a spring revival April 23, 24 and 25, at 7 p.m. Evangelist Carolyn Vessel from Way of Life AME Church in Chicago, Ill., will speak. Mifflins to be in concert The scholarship committee of Mt. Calvary AME Church in Concord will hold a benefit concert Sunday, April 29, at 3 p.m. The Mifflin Family from Georgetown will perform. Refreshments will be served immediately after the service.

Hymn sing set for April 29
Wesley United Methodist Church, 3 miles northwest of Seaford on Atlanta Road, will host a hymn sing Sunday, April 29, 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by The Lights of Home, Laurel. Refreshments will follow the service. For information telephone 629-7222.

Native Americans day set
Trinity Church of Dublin Hill will celebrate Native American Sunday April 29 at 4 p.m. The service will be followed by sandwiches and fellowship.

Gethsemane to host fair
Gethsemane United Methodist Church will have a flower fair (rain or shine) Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mother's Day gifts and garden items such as hanging baskets, bedding plants, geraniums, bushes and herbs will be sold. Lunch will be available along with homemade ice cream. There will also be a bake sale. A car wash and a free blood pressure check will be set up. Gethsemane is 4 miles west of Seaford at the corner of Delaware 20 and Sussex 78 (Woodland Road), near Reliance, Md. For more information call 629-9161.

Dinner to benefit youth
Christ Lutheran Church, Spruce and Shipley streets, Seaford, will hold a dinner theater Saturday, April 21, 6 p.m. A Spring Fling will be catered by Jimmy's Grille, Bridgeville. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased by April 13. Proceeds will benefit Christ Lutheran Youth. For details, call 629-3486.

Spring Festival April 21
Shiloh Community Church, Laurel, will host a yard sale Saturday, April 21, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oyster sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches will be sold, as well as baked goods created by the church youth.

Good Friday play set
At its Good Friday service on April 13, at 7 p.m., the Seaford Wesleyan Church will present the play "Sin Stained," written by the Rev. Dr. Michele Russell. This play is based on a Billy Graham book, "Seven Deadly Sins."

Cannon UMC plans services
Cannon United Methodist Church, approximately 2 miles west of US 13 on Delaware 18, will hold Good Friday services April 13 at 7 p.m. and Easter services at 11 a.m. on April 15. Pastor Steve Hall is holds a Wednesday evening service in the Crestfield Village Clubroom at 7 p.m. each week, open to all in the community. The clubroom is near the Shipley Center on Virginia Avenue, Seaford. Beginning May 20, the church will sponsor a class on Revelations each Sunday at 6:30 p.m. For information call Hall at 629-2655 or 629-7468.
