Women’s Day services planned
The Bridgeville Charge United Methodist Churches will hold their first Joint Women’s Day services Sunday, April 28, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville. The speaker for the morning will be the Rev. Marie Robinson of the Bridgeville Charge and the speaker for the afternoon service will be the Rev. Tina M. Miles of Kingdom Worship Center, Baltimore, Md. Dinner will be served after the afternoon service.
Baked goods to be sold
Delmar Church of God of Prophecy, US 13 and Dorothy Road, 2 miles north of Maryland/Delaware Line, will hold a sandwich and baked goods sale Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oyster sandwiches, cheese-steak subs, soups and chili, chicken salad sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs and baked goods will be available. Sounds of Joy to perform
Delmar Wesleyan Church, Eighth and East streets, Delmar will host the Sounds of Joy Trio in concert Sunday, April 14, at 7 p.m.
Trinity UMC plans revival
Trinity United Methodist Church will hold its spring revival April 19 through 21, with the Rev. Steve Willing, pastor with the Sharptown-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Charge. Friday, Saturday and Sunday services will be at 7 p.m. and there will also be a 10 a.m. Sunday service. The church is on Phillips Hill Road, 6 miles east of Laurel, near Trap Pond. Singing in praise
The United Methodist Churches of the Mission Area Ministry Team will hold a song festival Sunday, April 14, 7 p.m., at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Reliance. The “song fest” will consist of music from various United Methodist Churches, choir groups, soloists and instrumentalists. Gethsemane Church is 4 miles west of Seaford at Reliance (entrance is on the Woodland Ferry Road).
Orchestra, choirs to perform
“Savor Goes Gospel,” a concert featuring the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at Salisbury University and the gospel choirs of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and SU, will be Saturday, April 27, 8 p.m., in the Ella Fitzgerald Center for the performing arts at UMES in Princess Anne. The evening will include desserts, coffees and champagne. Proceeds will benefit the groups. Tickets are $35 and must be purchased by April 12. For details, call 410-548-5587.
Denton church plans revival
Denton Wayside Church, routes 16 and 404, near Denton, Md., will hold revival services April 9 through 14, 7:30 nightly.

Volunteers teach prisoners
Thresholds is an all-volunteer organization which teaches decision-making skills to those incarcerated in Delaware’s prisons. Volunteers are needed who can give two hours a week for 10 weeks, or two hours two times per week for one cycle of five weeks. Training will be held Saturday, April 13, at the University of Delaware. Thresholds teaches the decision-making program at the Correctional Center in Smyrna, Gander Hill Prison in Wilmington, and Baylor Women’s Corrections Center in New Castle, the Sussex Correctional Center in Georgetown and the Ferris School for Juveniles in Wilmington.
Song Fest to feature musicians

Mt. Calvary fish fry set
The trustees of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville, are sponsoring a fish fry Friday, April 19, 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Cost is $7 per platter, which includes fish, fried potatoes, string beans, stewed tomatoes and cornbread.

Carryouts or dining in are available. Deliveries will be available for orders over $21.
