Free Tax Assistance
AARP-Tax Aide is offering free tax counseling and preparation through April 11 for senior and low income taxpayers. AARP-Tax Aide volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will assist with personal tax returns at the following sites:
  • Nanticoke Senior Center, 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford, 629-4939;
  • Methodist Manor House, Middleford Road, Seaford, 629-4593;
  • Laurel Public Library, 101 E. 4th Street, 875-3184;

Spring Festival April 5
Seaford Christian Academy will hold its Spring Festival on Saturday, April 5, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. It will include a yard sale, food, games and more. A vehicle will be auctioned at noon.

First State Ballet Theatre
Two performances of the beloved classical ballet Coppélia will be presented by the First State Ballet Theatre on Saturday, April 5, at Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown. The performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the theatre of the Arts & Science Center. The company made its Sussex County debut at the college in October 2002 with An Evening of Classical and Contemporary Ballet, an exciting mixed-repertory program that included original choreography commissioned by the company. The 45-person cast will be headed by four professional dancers trained in the finest dance schools in Russia. Admission is $20 and $15 for students and seniors. Delaware Equine Council
This is a meeting regarding Trails. The monthly meeting of the Delaware Equine Council will be April 4 at 7 p.m. at the Messick Community Center in Harrington. For more information call Paula at 629-5233.

Art auction set for April 4 The Boys and Girls Club of Oak Orchard/Riverdale and the Greater Millsboro Kiwanis Club will host an art show and auction fund-raiser to benefit children and youth in the greater Millsboro area. The auction will be held Friday, April 4, at the American Legion Hall on Route 24 in Oak Orchard, about 7 miles east of Millsboro. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door. A preview of the art begins at 7 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, desserts and cash bar, and the auction begins at 8 p.m. Door prizes will also be awarded.
